Xiaomi’s flagship smartphone series, the Xiaomi 14 series debuted in China last year in October. The smartphones made quite an impact and their arrival in India has been highly anticipated since then. And finally, after a long long wait, Xiaomi has confirmed the launch in India on March 7, 2024. One should note that the flagship series comprises three smartphones: Xiaomi 14, the Pro model, and the Ultra model. But Xiami has only shared the image of the Xiaomi 14 suggesting that only the base variant will launch in India. It was the first smartphone to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset globally and we already know about most of its specifications because of its Chinese debut. Here are three things that I am excited about in this smartphone.

Display

According to its Chinese variant, it will feature a 6.36-inch 1.5K LTPO OLED touchscreen display that will offer up to 120Hz refresh rate and comes with a resolution of 1200 x 2670 pixels. It will also reach a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. Theoretically, these numbers sound really good, let’s see how the in-hand experience turns out to be.

Camera

The camera is something that people are expecting a lot out of. The camera on the Xiaomi 14 competes with the likes of the Vivo X100 and iQOO 12. The smartphone packs a triple camera setup on the rear which holds a 50-megapixel primary camera with OIS and Leica Summilux optical lens; another 50-megapixel  telephoto lens, and another 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor. The Chinese variant also holds a 32MP selfie shooter in the front.

Battery

Lastly, coming to the battery. The Chinese variant packs a 4610 mAh battery which comes along with support for 90W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging.

Let’s wait for the launch and see what changes Xiaomi makes in the Indian version of the Xiaomi 14.
