Realme U1 with MediaTek Helio P70 SoC goes on open sale from December 17

The 3/32GB variant of the Realme U1 will go on open sale at noon exclusively on Amazon.in on December 17 and its 4GB RAM and 64GB variant will be up for grabs from December 19.

Realme has announced that its latest smartphone, the Realme U1 (review) will go on open sale on December 17. Do note that the 3GB RAM, 32GB storage variant of the device will be available on the said date as the 4GB RAM/64GB storage variant will be up for grabs starting December 19. Realme confirmed the news via Twitter and the sale will start at noon exclusively via Amazon.in. The Realme U1 was launched late last month and is the first device to be powered by the MediaTek Helio P70 SoC.

Realme U1 price, specifications and features

The 3GB RAM variant of the Realme U1 is priced at Rs 11,999, while the 4GB RAM variant will be available at Rs 14,499. The Realme U1 features a 6.3-inch Full HD+ display with 90.8% screen to body ratio and a Dewdrop notch. It runs on the Octa-core MediaTek Helio P70 processor, which was announced in October. The handset is backed by a 3500mAh battery with AI Power master technology, which is said to intelligently analyse and help conserve the device’s battery. The Realme U1 sports a 2.5D glass finish with ‘Light Pillar design’ and gets a dual camera setup with a fingerprint sensor.

Coming to the camera department, the device sports a 13MP + 2MP dual-rear camera setup that offers shooting in portrait lighting, bokeh and super vivid modes. It can also record slow-motion video at 90fps in HD resolution. The device has an AI-powered 25MP sensor on the front with f2.0 aperture and 1.8um pixel size. The front camera supports Hybrid HDR, group selfie features, selfie bokeh effect and AI facial detection. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo and Realme claims that AI Face Unlock feature can unlock the smartphone in 0.1 seconds. 

After its first sale, Realme announced that it sold the full stock of 2,05,400 units in 6 minutes after going live. It also said that considering the customer's high demand for the product, it will be restocking with another 1 lakh devices at 6:00 PM on the same day.
