OnePlus 16 design revealed, looks almost similar to OnePlus 15: What to expect

OnePlus 16 Leaks: Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus is gearing up to announce its next flagship and the successor to the OnePlus 15 in its homeland soon. While the company has not revealed a launch date, it has unveiled the design of the OnePlus 16 on its Chinese website. The handset will debut in three colours and four RAM/ROM configurations, according to reports. From the looks of it, the upcoming flagship appears to be nearly identical to the OnePlus 15, but with a new paint.

The company is also accepting pre-bookings for the device in its homeland. It will expected to launch in China in a few weeks. As for the colours, the smartphone will debut in grey, black and orange shades, which will be officially labelled Tomorrow’s Starlight, Dark Forest and Mars Masterpiece.

Unlike the black, the grey and orange colourways will not have a plane design. In the video teaser on the website, the grey variant has the number “16” and additional text glowing on the back. The lighting mechanism will reportedly work for calls, notifications and more. While the lighting appears to be absent on the orange shade, the orange and grey will still have a unique pattern on the back.

OnePlus 16 specifications

According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the OnePlus 16 will likely ship with an AMOLED 165Hz screen. Under the hood, it will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset. In China, it is expected to debut with the latest version of ColorOS. Powering the phone will be a 9,000mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging support.

As for the optics, the handset will likely get a 200MP primary, 50MP ultrawide and 50MP periscope lens on the rear. According to reports, it will debut in four storage configurations: 12GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB, 16GB + 512GB and 16GB + 1TB. Details on the pricing remain under wraps for now. Plus, the smartphone is rumoured not to arrive in India. The company will likely make the OnePlus 16R the highest-priced OnePlus phone in India next year.
