Xiaomi is launching a new series of phones in China on June 21.
It might launch two phones which are likely to be called Mi CC9e and Mi CC9 Meitu.
The Mi CC9 Meitu is said to be aimed at female buyers.
Xiaomi will launch a new series of phone in China on June 21, company Co-founder Lei Jun has confirmed. Without naming the number or the name of the devices that are to be launched, Jun validated a Weibo post shared by the company’s official handle. The post talks about a phone that has some technology related to portraits. If reports are to be believed, the company will launch two phones which may be called the Mi CC9e and Mi CC9 Meitu. Both the handsets were teased in the past, and the Mi CC9e even made it to the TENAA website.
The Weibo post in question uses words like “self-timer,” and “shoot the world famous smiley,” which suggests that the phones are likely to have a technology that automatically clicks portraita of users when they smile. The post is complemented by an image of an eight-year-old kid Gavin Thomas, who became an overnight sensation in China due to his ‘fake smile’ expression.
Mi CC9e and Mi CC9 Meitu expected specs
As mentioned, the Mi CC9e was spotted on TENAA website. Apart from showing a phone with a waterdrop notch and a triple camera system on the back, the listing did not reveal any information. Speculation is rife that the phone will sport a 6.39-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel, and will come equipped with an in-display fingerprint sensor. The waterdrop notch is said to house a 32MP sensor, while the rear camera setup is expected to feature a 48MP main shooter alongside wide and telephoto sensors. The Mi CC9e might feature the Snapdragon 712 SoC and might house a 4,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.
Meanwhile, the Xiaomi Mi CC9 Meitu could sport a motorized flip camera the likes of which we've recently seen on the Asus 6z. Reportedly, the module will pack a 48MP main camera, in addition to an ultrawide and a telephoto unit. The phone with a code-name “Little Fairy” is expected to use a Snapdragon 730 SoC under the hood. The image making rounds on the internet shows a phone with a white finish and pink accents apparently to target the women customers.
