iQOO 16 with 8400mah battery and 165Hz AMOLED display Launched in China
Chinese smartphone maker iQOO recently unveiled its flagship iQOO 16 device in China a few days ago. As a trend in the past, the company used to tease the launch of its flagship handset in India soon after a home debut. However, things were different this time as the rumour mill claimed the company had ditched plans for an India debut of the iQOO 16. But this update could change soon.
A new leak from X (formerly called Twitter) tipster Yogesh Brar (@heyitsyogesh) claims the company is testing the device in India, which could imply we may finally see the successor of the iQOO 15 launch in India. While the possibilities still remain scant since we do not have any official word, the post can still be counted as a major hint of iQOO 16’s India arrival. Meanwhile, Brar also hinted at the possible pricing of the phone.

If the company considers an India debut, the iQOO 16 is expected to launch in the range of sub-Rs 1 lakh in the country. Assuming iQOO considers a timeline inspired by its previous launch strategies, we may witness the launch of the phone in mid or late Q3 of 2026.
For context on the previous track record, the company had launched iQOO flagships such as iQOO 15, iQOO 13, iQOO 12 and so on in India roughly a month after their Chinese debut. If this cycle is followed, we may see a launch materialise this month or in early November 2026.
Since the phone has already launched in China, we can anticipate its possible specifications in India. iQOO 16 could offer a 6.85-inch 2K AMOLED display with up to 165Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the handset is expected to run on a Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor with a Q4 gaming chip. It will likely boot on OriginOS 7 based on Android 17.

As for the battery life, it has an 8,400mAh battery with 100W wired charging and 40W wireless charging. Speaking of the optics, the phone could offer a 50MP OIS 1/1.3-inch LOFIC primary + 50MP ultrawide + 50MP OIS periscope telephoto rear cameras and a 32MP selfie lens.
