Asus ROG gaming smartphone to launch in India on November 29
Asus has sent out media invites for the launch of the device. The gaming phone was introduced at Computex earlier this year with Snapdragon 845 SoC and a vapour chamber cooling system.
In July, Asus CEO Jerry Shen had confirmed that the company would launch the Asus ROG gaming smartphone in India by the third quarter of the year. Though the Taiwanese company has missed the self-set Q3 deadline, it is delivering on its promise by launching the gaming phone in India on November 29. The company has started sending out media invites of the event in India.
The Asus ROG gaming smartphone, the first pure gaming-centric smartphone to come to India, was announced at Computex earlier this year. It features a 6-inch AMOLED HDR display with a 90hz refresh rate and a contrast ratio of 10,000:1. It has unique side-mounted ports and a range of expansion accessories, including the optional TwinView Dock for dual-screen handheld mode, the Mobile Desktop Dock for desktop-style gaming, and the Gamevice controller with WiGig Dock. Asus has included innovations like Asus Aura RGB lighting and Asus HyperCharge direct-charge technology for faster, safer and cooler battery charging.
Apart from the legacy ports, Asus ROG Phone has additional side-mounted custom USB-C connector that supports direct charging, HDMI output, gigabit LAN and headphones. And when the AeroActive Cooler is deployed, it provides a side-mounted USB-C port and 3.5mm headphone jack for unhindered gameplay. The phone has scored 304,000 on AnTuTu benchmarks and is among the top phones in the ranking. The device features an overclocked 2.96Ghz “speed-binned” Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset with the Qualcomm Adreno 630 GPU, especially optimised for gaming. It is paired with 8GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
The ROG smartphone comes equipped with the world’s first 3D vapour-chamber cooling system in a smartphone known as GameCool. The ROG Phone takes on its rivals like the Razer Phone and Xiaomi’s Black Shark which are not available in the country. The phone comes with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB of onboard ROM storage. The ROG Phone pakcs a 4,000mAh battery and there are two front-facing stereo speakers with smart amplifiers to maximise volume and minimise distortion.
