Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses confirmed to launch in India soon: Here’s what we know

Meta has officially announced that its AI-integrated Ray-Ban smart glasses will debut in India alongside Mexico and the United Arab Emirates. In a blog post shared by the company, the company stated that it is expanding the availability of its ‘next-gen wearable tech’ to new global markets. The announcement comes after the smart glasses made its debut in the key regions including the US, Canada, and Europe.
Initially launched in collaboration with EssilorLuxottica in September 2023, the Ray-Ban Meta glasses are the successor to the original Ray-Ban Stories which were announced in 2021. For the unversed, the glasses combine a classic eyewear design with hands-free smart capabilities.
Coming to the features, the glasses offer built-in Meta AI integration for voice-controlled assistance, real-time translation in multiple languages, audio and video calling support across various platforms, and music playback from services like Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music. The glasses got a new update which now allows it to direct messages via Instagram along with consistent support for WhatsApp, Messenger, and other applications.

Additionally, the glasses also feature a camera for taking photos and videos. The company also stated that the upcoming AI-powered “see-what-you-see” mode will allow the assistant to offer real-time contextual help based on the user’s surroundings. Interestingly, this mode is currently rolling out in the US and Canada and is expected to gradually roll out to other countries in the coming months.
Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses release date in India
Meta has not confirmed the exact launch date or the pricing for India. In a blog post, the company wrote, “And coming soon, we’re launching Ray-Ban Meta glasses in Mexico, India, and the United Arab Emirates. We can’t wait for more people across the globe to get in on the action.”
