Facebook testing a new button: Reports
HIGHLIGHTS

A new Facebook button has been spotted. The button meant for desktop version allows users to post to Timeline from any page of the social networking site.

Looks like Facebook is testing a whole bunch of new features that are set to be rolled out very soon. According to reports, the social networking company will soon add a new button, among other features, for its desktop version of its service.

The new button, first spotted by Mashable reporter Alex Fitzpatrick last week, is currently being tested with select users. The button appears on the top right of the Facebook page, placed next to the profile link. Here’s how the new feature looks like:

Clicking on the button shows a “How are you feeling” or a “Post on your Timeline” message, allowing users to post on their timeline from any page of the service.

Days after overhauling NewsFeed and Timeline, Facebook is rumoured to bring in various new features inspired from other social networking sites. Last round of rumours said Facebook is working to include hashtags and compose new message -features already available on Twitter.

Recently, Facebook updated its Facebook Events segment, adding weather conditions for upcoming events. Facebook is also simplifying its comments section. Now users can have threaded conversations on Pages’ posts. Read more about Facebook’s comments overhaul here.
