OpenAI has announced that ChatGPT can now use your open Google Chrome tabs to find information, compare details and help you complete tasks without switching between different windows. For example, you can ask ChatGPT to compare products across multiple tabs, explain an article or check different subscription plans. It can also fill out forms and draft emails. Alongside the new Chrome feature, OpenAI has also introduced an update to ChatGPT’s voice capabilities.

ChatGPT can now access Google Chrome tabs

ChatGPT can now work with the tabs you have open in Google Chrome to provide more useful answers. In Chat mode, ChatGPT can look through your open tabs and collect relevant information. This can help when you want to compare products, research a topic, or understand information available across multiple websites.

In Work mode, ChatGPT can take things further. It can help fill out online forms, send messages, download files, and organise tabs into groups. You can also ask it to collect information from different websites and arrange the details in a comparison sheet.

ChatGPT gets new voices and better language support

Alongside the Chrome upgrade, OpenAI has announced GPT-Live-1.1 for ChatGPT, Codex and Dots. The update introduces 13 new voices and improves performance across several languages. These include French, German, Hindi, Mexican Spanish, Korean, and Japanese, along with other non-English languages.

The improvements aim to make voice interactions sound more natural and work better for people who prefer speaking to AI in languages other than English.

OpenAI said the updated voice capabilities are rolling out to all users. The company also plans to bring the update to its API soon.
