Amazon has introduced the new Kindle Paperwhite in India with a series of upgrades in its e-reader lineup. Touted as the fastest, thinnest, and best-performing Paperwhite yet, it offers a glare-free display with enhanced resolution and adjustable warm light, dark mode, and reads. The device is available for purchase on Amazon in Black colour. The device comes with 6GB of internal storage and IPX8 water resistance. The readers can access a vast range of e-books. Kindle Paperwhite: What’s New?

The all-new Kindle Paperwhite comes with a 7-inch glare-free display, which is the largest ever panel offered in the series. It comes with 300 ppi resolution and oxide thin-film transistor technology that delivers the highest contrast ratio. The display is also capable of supporting adjustable warm light, and dark mode and reads like real paper even in direct sunlight.

The new Kindle comes powered by the dual-core processor which provides 25 per cent faster page turns along with smoother navigation. The company is also claiming to offer up to 12 weeks of battery life on a single charge via USB-C.

“Its fast performance, with 25% faster page turns, ensures customers never have a slow moment while reading. Its largest-ever display provides added reading comfort,” said Dilip R.S., Director and Country Manager, of Amazon Devices India.

Speaking of the design, the device weighs less and measures thinner than its predecessor. It comes with 16GB of internal storage and IPX8 water resistance, making it highly portable and durable. It is packed with reader-centric features like X-Ray for character and setting references, word wise for vocabulary help, built-in dictionary and translation tools, and simplified device setup via Kindle mobile app.

The Kindle Paperwhite also offers access to over 1.5 crore eBooks, including Indian language titles in Hindi, Tamil, Marathi, and more. The Kindle Unlimited subscribers can read from a rotating catalogue of over 20 lakh titles, while Amazon Prime members get free access to a curated eBook selection.

The all-new Kindle Paperwhite is priced at Rs 16,999, with optional covers available in Black, Marine Green, and Tulip Pink at Rs 1,999.
