This free-to-play multiplayer game arrives on the Xbox PC app soon, all details
In the last few days, XBox has been in the limelight for a number of reasons. From launching cloud gaming in India to adding new games to the game pass, the console maker has taken many steps towards strengthening its presence across both console and PC ecosystems. And now, Microsoft is getting ready to welcome one of the world’s biggest games to its PC ecosystem.
SurveyFortnite, Epic Games’ hugely popular free to play title, will arrive on the Xbox app for PC on November 18. Until now, PC players have always needed the Epic Games Launcher to jump into the island, but Microsoft’s storefront is about to become a new point of entry.

Fortnite will soon arrive on the Xbox PC app
From November 18, players who prefer the Xbox on PC app will be able to install, launch and update Fortnite directly through Microsoft’s platform. The experience should work just like any other Xbox PC title, right down to the Xbox network integration for friends, achievements and activity tracking. This gives players another option for accessing Fortnite without having to rely solely on the Epic Games Launcher.
Microsoft also confirmed that Fortnite is joining the Xbox Play Anywhere programme. This means your progress and purchases will carry across Xbox consoles, PC and supported handheld devices. If you use an Xbox Ally or the newer Xbox Ally X, your skins, V Bucks and levels will appear automatically, so you can jump into matches wherever you happen to be playing.
Another perk arriving on November 18 is exclusive to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. They will receive the Fortnite Crew subscription as part of their membership. Crew includes a monthly outfit, 1,000 V Bucks and access to all current battle passes, making it easier to earn cosmetics across Fortnite’s various modes.
How to download and play on the Xbox app
Once Fortnite launches on the Xbox app for PC, players will simply need to open the Xbox application, search for Fortnite and hit install. The title will appear in the library like any other supported game, with all updates handled automatically. Logging in with your existing Epic Games account will sync your purchases and progression. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members will also see their Crew benefits reflect on launch day.
Xbox Cloud Gaming went live in India
The timing of Fortnite’s Xbox PC arrival follows Microsoft’s rollout of Xbox Cloud Gaming in India. The service allows users to stream games straight to phones, tablets, PCs and selected smart TVs without needing a console. Players only need a stable internet connection and a compatible controller to start streaming supported titles. With cloud gaming now available, Fortnite’s wider availability on the Xbox ecosystem could open the door to even more flexible ways to play in the future.
