Fans of Stranger Things might think the story of Hawkins is over, but the universe is about to expand in a new way. A new animated series called Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 is set to arrive this week. The show features familiar characters but presents them in an animated style. The idea for the series came up when the creators were exploring more ideas set in Hawkins. As Ross Duffer explained, ‘When we started talking about was there anything else we wanted to do with Stranger Things, this was one of our first ideas.’ Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming animated spin-off of Stranger Things.

Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 release date

The animated series Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 will officially premiere on April 23, 2026. Viewers will be able to stream it exclusively on Netflix.

The story takes place during the winter of 1985 in Hawkins. According to the official description, ‘The original characters must fight new monsters and unravel a paranormal mystery terrorising their town in Stranger Things: Tales From ’85.’
