Bridgerton season 5 is officially in production. In the fifth season, the story will revolve around a character who has mostly stayed in the background until now. The upcoming chapter will focus on Francesca Bridgerton and will introduce the show’s first same-sex love story. According to showrunner Jess Brownell, the season will feature the signature charm of the show, featuring emotional depth, humour and romance. The new season will follow Francesca as she deals with a major loss in her life. Her husband, John Stirling, passes away, leaving her to cope with grief. For a long time, Francesca has kept herself away from social life. After nearly two years, she begins to think about returning to society and possibly finding love again. However, things do not go as she planned.

Francesca’s life takes an unexpected turn when Michaela, John’s cousin, comes back to London to take charge of the family estate. As the two spend more time together, Francesca slowly begins to question what she truly wants from her life and relationships.
The makers have not confirmed an official release date of Bridgerton season 5 yet. However, reports suggest that the new season may arrive sometime between late 2027 and early 2028.

The creators have already confirmed that the series will continue beyond season 5. In fact, the show was renewed for season 5 and season 6 even before season 4 premiered.
