Specifications and features
The dongle weighs just 2.2 grams and connects via USB-C port. But, in case your primary device doesn’t have a Type-C socket, you can use the bundled USB-A adapter. It is compatible with laptops, desktop PCs, smartphones and tablets running Android, iOS/iPadOS, Windows, or macOS.
The dongle functions as a class-compliant audio device, which means no software installation or manual pairing is required. Users can simply plug it in and start listening with improved clarity and lower latency. It supports Qualcomm’s aptX Adaptive and aptX Lossless codecs, enabling 24-bit/96 kHz playback for detailed, distortion-free sound. Its dedicated Game Mode reduces lag to as low as 30 milliseconds, making it ideal for competitive gaming or media editing.

Thanks to Bluetooth 5.4 and Auracast support, you can also share the same audio stream across multiple compatible devices for a community experience.
The main purpose is that it allows devices to bypass older systems with outdated Bluetooth connectivity and codec support, thereby avoiding any compression artefacts. Even features like Auracast and multi-device audio sharing and streaming aren’t possible on older systems.
Compared to regular Bluetooth dongles, the BTD 700’s Bluetooth 5.4, Auracast, 24-bit/96 kHz playback, and up to 30ms low latency support make it a more future-ready option for premium audio users.
The BTD 700 works best with headphones and TWS earbuds that support aptX Adaptive or aptX Lossless codecs. macOS devices currently lack native aptX support, so users may not get the full benefit of high-resolution playback there. Still, for Windows and Android users, the dongle offers one of the simplest plug-and-play options to achieve high-quality wireless audio.
Speaking on the launch, Saahil Kumar, General Manager – Sennheiser Consumer Hearing Business, India, says the BTD 700 brings ‘studio-grade sound quality to everyday devices.’
