Many times people set passwords and forget them but these days every password can be recovered. All of the apps, websites and everything gives you access to reset your password by confirming your identity through mail or message. Just like that, iPhone passcodes can be recovered too. If you are someone who forgets your iPhone’s passcode or is having trouble remembering it just because you generally use Face ID to unlock it, here are four steps by which you can unlock it without a passcode.

You need to have a PC or Mac and if PC then make sure it runs Windows 10 or higher. iTunes should be installed in it. After that, you need a compatible cable or the one which came with your iPhone to connect your device to the computer.

Unplug your iPhone from the computer if it is already connected. Turn off your iPhone using these methods:

  • If you have Phone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X and later, including iPhone SE (2nd and 3rd generation), press and hold the power button and volume down button together until the power off slider appears on the display. 
  • If you have iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6, iPhone SE (1st generation), iPhone 5s and earlier, just press and hold the power button until the power off slider appears on the display.
  • After that drag the slider to the right, let it turn off and make sure it is turned off properly.

How to unlock iPhone without a passcode: Step 3

Put your phone in recovery mode by following these methods:

  • If you have iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X and later, including iPhone SE (2nd and 3rd generation), press and hold the power button.
  • If you have iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, press and hold the Volume down button.
  • If you have iPhone SE (1st generation), and iPhone 6s and earlier, press and hold the Home button.

Don’t let go of the button and connect your iPhone immediately to the computer. When you see the recovery mode on the display of your iPhone, then let go of the button.

How to unlock iPhone without a passcode: Step 4

Find your iPhone in the Finder or in iTunes on the computer your iPhone is connected to. Choose the restore mode when you see the option and let the computer download the software. If the download is not completed in 15 minutes and your phone exits the recovery mode then let the computer download the software and put your iPhone in restore mode again.

Disconnect your iPhone when the process is completed and set up your iPhone.
