Asus VivoBook S15 and Zenbook UX430 comes with Intel's 8th generation Core processor and can be configured with up to 16GB RAM. Both models feature a display with thinner bezels.

Asus announced the launch of VivoBook S15 and Zenbook UX430 Windows 10 laptops at a press event in New Delhi today. The new ZenBook UX430 is the thinnest Zenbook with discrete graphics and it is priced at Rs 74,990. The VivoBook S15, on the other hand, is priced at Rs 59,990.

In terms of specifications, the VivoBook S15 sports a 15.6-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and 178-degree wide viewing angle. The notebook can be configured with Intel's 8th generation Core i5-8250U or more powerful Core i7-8550U and up to 16GB DDR4 RAM. It comes with dual storage drives with 128GB SSD drive for faster boot times and a 1TB hard disk drive for storing music and other media libraries. Asus' David Chu, Product Manager – India, told us that an Intel Core i3 variant of the VivoBook S15 will also be available later this year. However, it will not feature a backlit keyboard, discrete graphics and a fingerprint scanner.

The VivoBook S15 features a chiclet-style keyboard and supports WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity options. It includes two USB 2.0 port, one USB 3.0 port, one USB Type-C port, one HDMI port and also has a fingerprint sensor. The VivoBook S15 features 42Whrs battery that the company claims can last for 8 hours and can charge to 60 percent in just 49 minutes with fast charging support. It weighs around 1.7 kg and will be available across all online and offline retailers from October 1, 2017.

"Today, the consumers want their everyday laptop to be stylish, slim, ultra-portable and yet a powerful performer for their daily tasks. With a set of unprecedented features, our latest VivoBook goes beyond the edge to ensure our users stay ahead of the curve. We believe that it will redefine the ‘Everyday’ laptop category in India," Peter Chang, Regional Head, South Asia & Country Manager said at the event.

Asus also showcased the Zenbook UX430 featuring 14-inch Full HD display with 7.18mm thin bezels and a screen-to-body ratio of 80 percent. The laptop comes with 8th generation Intel Core i7 processor, 16GHB RAM and up to 512GB SSD storage. It comes equipped with NVIDIA GeForce MX150 and offers 9 hours battery life. The notebook is now available from both online and offline retail channels.
