Apple’s next MacBook Pro may arrive quietly this week, details here
Apple’s October playbook might be different this year. Instead of a flashy keynote or an online event, the company may quietly announce its new products through a series of pre-recorded videos or simple press releases. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple could announce its next products as early as this week, with the spotlight on the new 14-inch MacBook Pro.

Apple’s October event this week?
The idea of a low-key launch isn’t new for Apple. In the past, the company has chosen to reveal incremental upgrades through its Newsroom posts, supported by short, cinematic clips uploaded to YouTube. This October seems to follow that pattern. There are whispers that Apple will skip a formal event entirely and instead reveal its new devices one by one over several days.
There is also a strategic reason behind this quieter approach. Apple has been spacing out its launches to extend media coverage, often releasing products in small waves rather than holding one packed event. With the company also expected to refresh the iPad Pro and Vision Pro lineup soon, spacing these announcements could help each product own its moment in the news cycle.
A typical rollout could look something like this: Apple issues a Newsroom post and a short video featuring the new 14-inch MacBook Pro, highlighting the M5 chip and possibly a few efficiency or battery life gains. Pre-orders could open immediately or within a day, with shipping beginning later in October. However, nothing has been confirmed officially yet so it is wise to take this information with a pinch of salt.
About the upcoming MacBook Pro
For a long time, it is being rumoured that the 14-inch MacBook Pro with M5 chip could be unveiled soon. Later in 2026, Apple could unveil the MacBook Pros with M5 Max and M5 Pro chips.
Gurman had recently reported that supplies of the 14-inch M4 MacBook Pro had tightened significantly, with several custom configurations showing delayed shipping dates extending up to October 23–28. The timing sparked fresh speculations that Apple could unveil a new M5-powered MacBook Pro soon, barely five months after introducing the M4 chip. Analysts had also pointed to regulatory filings hinting at just one new MacBook model, further supporting the theory that Apple is starting small.
The 14-inch MacBook Pro isn’t expected to get a redesign or major feature overhaul. Instead, the focus will likely be on the new M5 chip which promises improved performance and efficiency.
