Microsoft launches 365 Premium with Copilot AI: Price, features and everything else
Microsoft has just launched 365 Premium with Copilot.
This is a new subscription tier.
The price starts from $19.99 per month.
Microsoft has been one of the frontrunners in the AI race and continues unveiling new products to enhance users’ experience. And now, it is set to boost productivity for working professionals with Microsoft 365 Premium. The tech giant recently announced the arrival of the new subscription tier that combines its productivity suite with the power of its AI assistant, Copilot.
SurveyPriced at $19.99 (Rs 1774 approx) per month, the plan is designed for those who want advanced AI support directly within Microsoft’s core apps such as Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. The launch reflects Microsoft’s broader strategy to place Copilot at the centre of everyday productivity, making it more than just an add-on and instead a fully integrated tool for work and personal use.
What Microsoft 365 Premium offers
Unlike previous offerings, 365 Premium isn’t just a name change. It consolidates and upgrades existing plans by offering the highest Copilot usage limits, exclusive AI-powered tools like Researcher, Analyst and Actions, as well as 1TB of cloud storage and advanced security through Microsoft Defender. The move also simplifies Microsoft’s subscription lineup by discontinuing Copilot Pro, with users being transitioned to Premium for a more unified experience.
In addition to Premium, Microsoft has also confirmed that Personal and Family plan subscribers will receive enhanced Copilot access at no extra charge, including increased usage limits for select features. This tiered approach positions Premium as the flagship option for power users while still giving regular subscribers a taste of Copilot’s capabilities.
The decision to bundle AI more deeply into Microsoft 365 underscores the competitive race in the tech industry to monetise generative AI. Microsoft first launched Copilot Pro last year at the same $20 monthly price point, while rivals like OpenAI continue to offer ChatGPT Plus at a similar cost. With 365 Premium, Microsoft is betting that tighter integration into productivity apps will give it the edge.
Price details
As of now, we only know that the new subscription tier will cost $19.99 per month. This, when converted to INR, comes out to around Rs 1774. India pricing might be a little different hence it is best to wait for official prices.
Currently, Microsoft offers Microsoft 365 Family plan which costs ₹819 per month and Microsoft 365 Personal plan which costs ₹ 689 per month.
