iPhone 16 Pro price drops to Rs 69,999 during Flipkart Big Billion Days sale, but should you buy it?
As the iPhone 17 series goes on sale tomorrow, there is a lot of excitement in the air. People will be lining up tomorrow just to be the first ones to get their hands on the new iPhones. But if I were you, I wouldn’t do that. I would have still bought a new iPhone at half the price, and used the rest for a vacation. And no, I wouldn’t have flown out of the country to do that. Then how, you may ask? Well, Flipkart’s Big Billion Days Sale is just around the corner, and the e-commerce giant has announced some insane offers on the previous generation iPhone models that are too good to miss out. So if you have been planning to buy any of the iPhone 17 phones, even the base model, hear me out, as the iPhone 16 Pro will be available at a price lower than the iPhone 17 during the sale. And I will also tell you why, at that price point, going for it is better than the iPhone 17 Pro.
The Flipkart Big Billion Days Sale 2025 is set to bring one of the year’s biggest offers for Apple fans. The iPhone 16 Pro (128GB) will be available for just Rs 69,999, down from its regular price, after all discounts and bank offers are applied. The phone was originally launched for Rs 1,19,900. That’s almost Rs 50,000 off on the launch price! This marks one of the steepest price drops on Apple’s latest flagship so far, and demand is expected to be extremely high.
SurveyThe deal itself is what stands out; a flagship iPhone 16 Pro for under Rs 70,000 is a rare opportunity, making it one of the headline attractions of the Big Billion Days Sale this year. The stocks would be limited, and if you get lucky, you can really save big.
Why you should buy the iPhone 16 Pro
First of all, if you are able to get the device during the sale, then it is 10 times better than getting the base iPhone 17. As you get all the Pro-level features at a price lower than that of a base model. And the only phone better than the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max is the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max.
Speaking of that, if you get your hands on the iPhone 16 Pro during the sale, I think it is a better option over the iPhone 17 Pro. See, Flipkart’s Big Billion Days Sale 2025 is offering the iPhone 16 Pro (128GB) at just Rs 69,999. And the iPhone 16 Pro still holds its ground strongly against the newly launched iPhone 17 Pro, which comes at a much higher price of 1,34,900.
The iPhone 17 Pro brings minimal upgrades over the 16 Pro: 12GB RAM (vs 8GB), the newer A19 Pro chip, and a 48MP telephoto camera. However, the iPhone 16 Pro actually has an edge in key areas: it offers a 5x optical zoom (the 17 Pro drops to 4x optical zoom) and a lightweight titanium build, while the 17 Pro uses aluminum, making it heavier.
Both phones share the same display, USB-C 3.2 port, charging speeds, and Apple Intelligence features, with only a slight bump in battery life for the 17 Pro.
With Flipkart’s discount bringing the iPhone 16 Pro under Rs 70,000, the price gap is not justified by the small upgrades in the iPhone 17 Pro. Unless you specifically want the absolute latest model, the iPhone 16 Pro, at this price point, is the smartest choice in Apple’s lineup right now.
