Xiaomi releases MiUI 8 ROM Beta for testing on select devices
The new MiUI 8 Beta ROM is now available for Mi 2, Mi 2S, Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi 4C, Mi 5 and Mi Max.
The Chinese variant of the MiUI 8 Beta ROM was released for open testing earlier today. Xiaomi unveiled MiUI 8 earlier last month, alongside the Mi Max. At that time, the company showcased a few features of the new UI, and revealed that the ROM will be released for open testing after two weeks of closed Beta testing.
If you are a developer, or just want to to give the ROM a try, you can download it from Xiaomi's Chinese forums. It is available for the following device — Mi 2, Mi 2S, Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi 4C, Mi 5 and Mi Max. The developer ROM for MiUI 8 is scheduled for release on June 17. The ROM is still under development, and users may face bugs or crashes during usage.
As for new features, MiUI 8 brings new features like limiting chain startups, power saving modes, multi-window usage, fingerprint-secured Notes and more. The developer ROM for MiUI 8 will be released on June 17, which will have lesser bugs. It will support more device including the Mi 4C, Mi 4S, Redmi series, Redmi Note series, and the Mi Note series. The global ROM of MiUI 8 is currently under test by the Alpha team, and is likely to follow suit.
