Xiaomi 15 Ultra and Xiaomi 15 Launched Globally: When Are They Coming to India?
Xiaomi has officially unveiled its flagship Xiaomi 15 Series at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona, following its initial launch in China last week. The global lineup consists of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra and the compact Xiaomi 15, both featuring Leica-tuned cameras, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite, and running on Xiaomi HyperOS 2. The company has confirmed that the 15 and 15 Ultra will make their way to India on March 11.

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra features a 6.73-inch WQHD+ AMOLED display with 3200 x 1440 resolution and an impressive 3200-nit peak brightness. The screen features a 1-120Hz variable refresh rate with HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support.
With the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, it’s all about photography with an upgraded quad-camera system featuring Leica Summilux optics:
- 50MP 1-inch main camera with Sony LYT-900 sensor
- 50MP ultra-wide 14mm camera
- 50MP 3x floating telephoto camera with 10cm macro capability
- 200MP periscope telephoto with 4.3x optical zoom
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is the first Android smartphone to become an ACES (Academy Color Encoding System) Product Partner, ensuring cinema-grade colour accuracy for videography. It can record 4K video at 120fps and supports 10-bit Log recording across all cameras.
The 15 Ultra is powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite with 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and an advanced cooling system. It houses a 5410mAh battery supporting 90W wired and 80W wireless charging.
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra features aerospace-grade fibreglass with PU leather or glass finishes, protected by Xiaomi’s Dragon Crystal Glass 2.0. It will be available in Chrome Silver, Black, and White colour options.
Xiaomi is also introducing the Xiaomi 15 Ultra Photography Kit Legend Edition. This accessory includes a detachable shutter button, a thumb rest, a 67mm filter adapter ring, and an integrated 2000mAh battery for extended shooting sessions.
Both phones run on Xiaomi HyperOS 2, which introduces several AI-driven tools including AI Writing, AI Speech Recognition, AI Image Enhancement, and AI Film.

The Xiaomi 15 offers a more compact experience with a 6.36-inch AMOLED display that maintains the impressive 3200-nit peak brightness claim. It features narrow 1.38mm bezels and an 8.1mm thickness designed for one-handed use.
Its triple Leica camera system includes:
- 50MP main camera with Light Hunter 900 sensor
- 50MP ultra-wide 14mm camera
- 50MP 2.6x telephoto camera with 10cm macro capabilities
The phone shares the same Snapdragon 8 Elite processor as its Ultra sibling but comes with 12GB RAM. It houses a 5240mAh battery with 90W wired and 50W wireless charging support.
The Xiaomi 15 features an aviation-grade aluminium frame with a more conventional design than the Ultra model. It will be available in Black, White, Green, and a special Liquid Silver variant.
Pricing and Availability
The Xiaomi 15 starts at €999 (approximately ₹90,6834) for the 12GB+256GB variant, while the Xiaomi 15 Ultra begins at €1,499 (approximately ₹1,36,296) for the 16GB+512GB model.
Both phones will launch in India on March 11. According to Xiaomi India, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will be available exclusively in the Silver Chrome colour variant with 16GB+512GB configuration in the Indian market, while the Xiaomi 15 will be available in Black, White and Green colour options.
