Despite being the top model in the series, its release isn’t expected until next year. Recently, the camera specifications and battery capacity of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra were leaked. Now, a tipster has revealed the upcoming handset will likely feature an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner.

A recent post by tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) suggests that Xiaomi is expected to switch to using ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanners with the Xiaomi 14 Ultra smartphon model, reports MySmartPrice.

DCS mentioned that Xiaomi is currently testing ultrasonic fingerprint scanners for an upcoming device expected to launch next year. Although the specific device was not revealed by the tipster, the timeline hinted by DCS suggests that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra might incorporate an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

However, it’s important to note that Xiaomi is said to be developing a single-point ultrasonic scanner, potentially requiring users to place their finger over a specific spot on the screen. Nevertheless, despite this requirement, it surpasses regular optical fingerprint scanners in all other aspects.

So far, rumours suggest that the upcoming Xiaomi 14 Ultra smartphone model is expected to feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with 2K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. For photography, the device is expected to house a 50MP + 50MP + 50MP + 50MP quad camera setup. On the front, there could be a 32MP camera.
