Wait for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is going to be longer. Samsung has said that its Galaxy Nexus is going to arrive in India in the last week of January. The Galaxy Nexus was earlier speculated to hit the Indian market end of this year. It may be recalled that India was among the first series of Nexus launch countries. BGR India in its recent update on the Galaxy Nexus said that Samsung had to postpone the launch as the company had already scheduled a number of product for launch this month.
In a reply to a query by a follower regarding the launch date, Samsung India on its Twitter post stated, “Nexus is expected to launch in the last week of January. Will let you know the exact date as we get more information.”
It’s notable that Galaxy Nexus is the first smartphone to feature the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. The Galaxy Nexus will be soon followed by Huawei’s Honor, which is reportedly arriving in India in February with the ICS update. “Our research and development team is currently customising the Honor smartphone according to the needs of Indian consumers and it will hit the Indian markets in February,” Anand Narang, director marketing, Huawei had told The Mobile India.
Samsung recently rolled out a software fix for the reported volume bug in the Galaxy Nexus. Users in U.S., U.K., and other European countries also complained about sudden muting of the volume when on EDGE mode. According to GSM Arena, the Galaxy Nexus is also having issues with the multi-touch functionality of the display. The multi-touch functionality fails after certain apps are run on the device.
The problem persists even after the apps are closed and then is noticed in other apps as well. Only way to confront the issue is to switch off the display and back on. Samsung has rolled out the Android 4.0.3 update to fix the problem as the problem was not reported on the Galaxy Nexus running the updated OS.
