OnePlus details new ‘improved’ invite scheme for OnePlus 2
HIGHLIGHTS

OnePlus 2’s launch is less than 24 hours away now - here’s how you can hope to get the OnePlus 2 invite at the earliest

OnePlus 2 is less than 24 hours away, and countdowns worldwide are waiting eagerly for the much spoken-about smartphone. OnePlus has hence put up a blog on its forums, stating how its ‘improved’ invite system will work, and how you can get your hands on OnePlus 2 at the earliest.

The OnePlus blog states “more inventory, a reservation list, and a quicker rollout of shareable invites”, indicating an increase in its production capabilities. OnePlus has listed two principles for the first month sale of the OnePlus 2. First, the first customers, patronizers and active participants in its forums will be prioritized, as OnePlus looks to “show you our gratitude by offering you some of the first invites to purchase the OnePlus 2”. Secondly, invites for the mass will be spread as per participation in various contests and promotional events that OnePlus will be holding for its new smartphone.

OnePlus has also initiated a ‘reservation list’ for customers who are willing to wait till stocks arrive. This list will move on a first come first serve basis, and all one needs to do is sign up for it and wait till the invites arrive. OnePlus has also hinted that the very first invites might be reaching customers as early as the launch event progresses, and has also stated that invites to share will also be sent out sooner than when OnePlus One was launched.

Additionally, OnePlus might also be selling the OnePlus 2 via its exclusive retail store, ‘Experience’, in Beijing. The Experience store was opened to sell the OnePlus One, its accessories and offer possible customers a chance to experience the phone and learn more about it. A report from China states that the OnePlus 2 might go up for sale from August 8 onwards, from the OnePlus Experience store.

OnePlus 2 has been touted to feature Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.1 SoC, 4GB of RAM, a 5.5” 1440×2560 pixels QHD display and a 3300mAh battery, among other features. The launch will take place via VR, for which OnePlus has already distributed its Google Cardboard-powered VR headset. The launch will take place at 12pm IST on July 28th.
