While all eyes were on OpenAI to bring the world’s first agentic phone, StepX has beaten them to it. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer recently introduced its new StepX Neo device, describing it as the world’s first agentic phone powered by a native large language model. While other smartphone makers have tried to introduce more AI features into their smartphones, StepX has taken a different path and created a phone that is based on artificial intelligence right from the start. The smartphone is said to run on the Step AOS operating system, and the company says it will be powered by the Amoo AI agent. Here’s everything we know about the StepX Neo, the world’s first Agentic Phone.
The StepX Neo is said to run on Step AOS, which is an operating system built specifically for AI agents. Furthermore, the makers have also paired it up with Amoo, which is a built-in AI assistant by StepX. According to the company, the AI agent is deeply integrated into the phone, and it will be able to perform tasks that are way more complicated than a regular chatbot or voice assistant can do. While announcing the smartphone, StepX said that the AI model, operating system, and hardware of the device have been designed in a way that they would function as one complete ecosystem.
Furthermore, the smartphone will also come with an interactive secondary display at the rear end of the device. Although the company has not revealed exactly how it will work, the extra screen is expected to offer quick access to notifications, AI interactions, and other smart functions without opening the main display.

In terms of optics, the smartphone can be seen boasting a dual camera setup at the rear end whose details are not available at the time of writing.
Aside from these, the core specifications like RAM, storage, battery and more still remain under wraps. However, the smartphone company has confirmed partnerships with several popular services, including Meituan, WPS, CapCut, Ctrip, Gaode Maps, and Alipay. These integrations are expected to help Amoo complete tasks across different apps in a more connected way.
