Flash on Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 Series
Considering that Microsoft’s upcoming Windows Phone 7 Series will be heavily based on Silverlight, one might have assumed that Flash would be unlikely to ever be available on the phone.
Microsoft had previously declared that it had no objection to Flash being available for the OS, and while Flash would be absent from Windows Phone 7 Series at launch, it would come eventually.
Now Mike Chambers, a product manager for the Flash Platform at Adobe has confirmed that Microsoft and Adobe are working together to bring Flash to Internet Explorer for Windows Phone 7.
Unfortunately, Adobe had also declared recently that no longer plan to have a Flash Player 10.1 for Windows Mobile 6.5 phones, due to the lack of certain critical API — a fact they should have been aware of beforehand.
