First low-cost Nokia Windows Phone expected at MWC next week

The first low-cost Windows Phone devices were expected to launch with the arrival of Windows Phone Tango, which introduced the lower minimum requirements for the devices.

New reports however, claim that Nokia will be launching its first low-cost Nokia Windows Phone handset at MWC, the Nokia Lumia 610.

Also expected at MWC are the N8’s successor, the Nokia 803, and the global version of the Nokia Lumia 900, currently only on AT&T. The Finnish giant will unveil the devices at an event on February 27.

For now, no information is available whether the low-cost Nokia Windows Phone device will actually be running Windows Phone Tango, as is likely with a deferred launch, or the bare minimum for Windows Phone Mango.

In the meanwhile, Nokia has also released a teaser video of ‘pure view’ cameras (seen below), with an announcement scheduled for February 27. This could very well be the Nokia 803’s extra large camera sensor we’ve been hearing about.
