Cyanogen’s latest partnership with Playphone will integrate its social game store and network into Cyanogen OS.
Cyanogen, the custom ROM maker for Android OS, has announced a distribution partnership with Playphone to integrate the gaming social network in its custom Cyanogen OS versions. Cyanogen has been striking partnerships with various companies, most notably Microsoft and Truecaller, and collaborating with Playphone will add yet another interesting network into its features.
Playphone is a cross-platform social gaming network for mobiles, where gamers can download, play, upload and share games and gaming data & knowhow with gamers across the world. Previously, Cyanogen had struck deals with Microsoft to bundle its apps, and also with Truecaller to integrate caller identification services.
Since OnePlus decided to move on to Oxygen OS, Cyanogen is looking to strike deals with popular app vendors and developers to create an all-inclusive ROM, that will make the Android experience better. Recently, Cyanogen received its series C round of fundings, receiving around $110 million from various sources.
With Cyanogen including Playphone, a large platform will be provided for gamers on the mobile phone platform to explore newer games. However, the Playphone network will only be available currently on phones that come pre-installed with Cyanogen OS, namely, the Yu Yureka, Yu Yuphoria and the OnePlus One.
