Apple to restore duplicate song search in iTunes 11

Apple’s latest version of iTunes, iTunes 11 was launched last week and it lacked one important feature that was present in its previous iterations – the ability to search for duplicate songs. This feature is absent from iTunes 11 and Apple has said that it will restore it with an update in the near future.

In the previous versions of iTunes, users were given the option of “Display Exact Duplicates”. This feature would give users the ability to clean up their library incase they had multiple entries of the same song. Another feature that has vanished from iTunes 11 is the ability to browse your music library through cover flow. Apple said that there were too few users of this feature and it will not make an appearance on the new app.
