Apple is currently gearing up to host its ‘Surprise and shine’ event, which is scheduled for September 9. At the event, the tech giant is expected to launch the iPhone 18 Pro and the iPhone 18 Pro Max. Alongside the new Pro models, Apple is also said to introduce its much-awaited foldable iPhone, which may come with iPhone Ultra branding. The iPhone Ultra is rumoured to come with a passport-like design, similar to how the recently launched Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 looks. The Apple iPhone Ultra is said to feature a 7.8-inch main display. The outer display could be 5.5 inches. For comparison, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 equips a 7.6-inch main screen, and has a cover display of 5.5 inches.

Under the hood, the iPhone Ultra is expected to be powered by Apple’s A20 Pro chip, and may be backed by a 4,883 mAh battery. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, and has a 4,800 mAh dual battery.
The Apple iPhone Ultra is rumoured to equip a 48MP dual camera setup on the back. For selfies and video calls, the upcoming foldable iPhone is expected to sport an 18MP camera on both displays. For comparison, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 also has a dual rear camera setup, but with 50MP sensors. According to rumours, the Apple iPhone Ultra is likely to start around Rs 1,90,000 to Rs 2,50,000 in India. For comparison, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 starts at Rs 1,79,999 and goes up to Rs 2,39,999.
