Apple will most likely change its iPhone launch strategy this year. Word has it that the tech giant is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro lineup in September, while the standard iPhone 18 may be pushed to next year. Alongside the iPhone 18 Pro smartphones, Apple is also said to unveil its first-ever foldable iPhone, which could be branded as the iPhone Ultra. Apple has not officially confirmed any details yet, but there are plenty of rumours and leaks that give us a fair idea at what the foldable may offer. Below are five things you can expect from the rumoured iPhone Ultra.
The Apple iPhone Ultra is expected to come in two colour options: White and black. It is said to feature a wide, passport-like design. Rumours hint at a crease-less inner display. It may measure just 4.55mm when folded. On the back, there could be a horizontal camera module, featuring two lenses. When folded, the iPhone Ultra is expected to offer a normal iPhone-like experience. When unfolded, it could provide a tablet-like experience.

The Apple iPhone Ultra will reportedly feature a 7.8-inch inner LTPO OLED display with a resolution of 2713 × 1920 pixels, alongside a 5.5-inch cover LTPO OLED display. Both screens are expected to support a 120Hz refresh rate and Dolby Vision. The cover display is said to be protected by Ceramic Shield glass.
The Apple iPhone Ultra is likely to run on a new A20 Pro chip and C2 cellular modem, both of which are expected to ship with the iPhone 18 Pro as well. The foldable phone is said to come with 12GB of RAM. Furthermore, the iPhone Ultra may debut with iOS 27. It will likely borrow multitasking capabilities from iPadOS and feature dynamic, resizable apps designed specifically for a large, flexible screen.
For photography, the foldable iPhone is expected to house a dual camera setup on the back, consisting of a 48MP main camera and a 48MP ultra-wide lens. For selfies, you can expect an 18MP front-facing camera on both screens. You can also expect support for video recording in 4K at up to 120fps.
The Apple iPhone Ultra is rumoured to feature a dual-cell battery with a combined rated capacity of 4,883 mAh. This will likely be marketed as 5,000 mAh. The setup may consist of a 1,921 mAh cell and a 2,962 mAh cell powering the dual-screen form factor.
