Meta is reportedly preparing to bring the all-new Muse AI assistant to encrypted chats on WhatsApp and its smart glasses. Tipster Abhishek Yadav recently shared screenshots of unreleased code found in WhatsApp and Messenger. He wrote that Meta Muse may be able to access end-to-end encrypted WhatsApp chats after users enter a PIN created in Messenger. He also suggested that Meta might be exploring cellular connectivity for its smart glasses through an eSIM. Meta has not yet officially commented on the discovery. Here’s everything you need to know about the findings shared by the tipster.
Tipster Abhishek Yadav recently shared a post on his X account stating that “Meta wants Muse everywhere, even inside your encrypted chats.” He also claimed that ‘Meta is quietly preparing 2 big things for Muse and its glasses.’ To support his claim, he shared two screenshots: one contains the WhatsApp code, while the other contains the Messenger code related to Meta’s smart glasses.
Meta wants Muse everywhere, even inside your encrypted chats 😂 Meta is quietly preparing 2 big things for Muse and its glasses 👀 1. WhatsApp 2.26.40.76 code shows you can give Muse access to your end-to-end encrypted chats. You’ll unlock it with a PIN made in Messenger. 2. Messenger 583 code has an "eSIM activation flow" and a "cellular session" for smart glasses. So Meta glasses with their own mobile network, no phone needed. Nothing official from Meta yet.

The first screenshot suggests that WhatsApp version 2.26.40.76 contains text indicating that users may be able to give Muse access to their end-to-end encrypted chats. One of the strings reads, ‘Create a PIN in Messenger to give Muse access to your end-to-end encrypted chats.’ Another explains that the PIN is the same one used to access chat history. The code also includes a message warning users that they have tried too many times and can reset their PIN in Messenger or try again later.

The second screenshot shows unreleased code in Messenger version 583.0.0.29.95. It includes internal event names that reference an eSIM activation flow and a cellular transport session for smart glasses. The code also mentions a Wi-Fi station session, a call event and a message-sending event for the glasses. Another entry refers to WhatsApp contact synchronisation. The tipster interprets this as Meta glasses getting their own mobile network, with no phone needed, but the code alone doesn’t confirm that.
At the time of writing, Meta has not announced plans to bring Muse into encrypted WhatsApp chats or to introduce eSIM support for its smart glasses. The traces are in unreleased code, and the final features, privacy controls and availability could change before a public release, or the features may never ship. If the feature does launch as the strings suggest, it would be opt-in, since users would have to create a PIN to give Muse access. It would still raise privacy questions about how Muse handles the content of chats that were previously readable only by the people in them.
