Spotify down: Users in the United States and India started reporting issues while streaming music on Friday evening. According to data from Downdetector, users are facing problems with audio streaming and connecting to Spotify’s servers. Reports started rising sharply in the US at around 7:05 PM, with the outage quickly drawing thousands of complaints. In India, users also began reporting problems around the same time, although the number of reports was much lower. The problems are not limited to one part of the service, as the users flagged issues related to the Spotify app, server connections and logins.
Users in the US started reporting problems at around 7:05 PM on Downdetector. Complaints quickly increased, and at the time of writing, the outage-monitoring platform showed 18,443 reports.
Around 61 per cent of users reported that they were facing issues while using the app, while 19 per cent reported problems with audio streaming. Another 14 per cent of users reported server connection issues.
The problem was not limited to the US, as users in India also reported issues around the same time. At the time of writing, Downdetector showed 529 reports from India.
About 52 per cent of Indian users reported that they were unable to use the app. Server connection issues accounted for 18 per cent of reports, while 17 per cent of users reported login-related problems.
