Why Does It Matter?

Exceeding the milestone of 500 AI models marks a significant achievement for Intel’s commitment to nurture and support the AI PC revolution. Not only has the Intel Core Ultra processor emerged as the fastest-growing AI PC processor thus far, it also stands as the most robust platform for AI PC advancement, according to the company.

Models form the backbone of AI-enhanced software functionalities such as object removal, image super resolution, or text summarization. The correlation between the quantity of enabled and optimized models and the scope of user-facing AI functionalities that can be introduced to the market is direct. Without a model, the groundwork for a feature cannot be laid, and without runtime optimization, the feature cannot achieve its optimal performance.

How AI Models Work

AI models are like the building blocks of software that powers AI-driven applications. They’re trained to analyse data, make decisions, and perform tasks based on what they’ve learned. When developers create new features for AI-powered computers, they can use these models as a starting point. The more models there are, the more cool features we can add to AI computers.

These models can work with text, speech, audio, images, and other things common to the PC experience.
