GTA 6 is weeks away from its official launch, and while many PlayStation owners have already pre-booked the game to enjoy it as soon as its launch, you may not be able to immediately play it if you’ve got a jailbroken PS5. Reports suggest that the upcoming game will require users to update to the upcoming 14.10.00.00 firmware, which is newer than the July 13.60 software supported by the Relapse jailbreak. This matters because Sony’s September and October updates have already disrupted Relapse, a jailbreak that gives modified PS5 consoles deeper access to the system. Here’s everything you need to know.
According to a post from PlayStation Game Size, the upcoming GTA 6 requires at least PS5 Update 14.10.00.00. While Sony has not yet officially confirmed the requirement, if the post is to be trusted, then the users who are currently using a jailbroken PS5 may not be able to enjoy the game as it hits the market.

Relapse is a jailbreak method which uses a security weakness in the web browser and lets hackers get deep access to the PS5 system. Relapse worked on the July 13.60 console update, and as a result, users were able to run unofficial apps and some game backups on their PS5, but not all games worked properly.
However, the gamers who were using Relapse started facing issues after Sony released the 14.00 update on September 16, following the 14.10 version on October 1, which added more security fixes. At the time of writing, Sony has not officially commented on whether or not these updates were made specifically to block Relapse or a PS5 jailbreak.
Rockstar Games have previously confirmed that GTA 6 will make its debut on November 19, 2026. It’s important to note that the current release date is just for the console version, and Rockstar has not yet announced a launch date for the PC version. According to the reports, the PC version is expected to release 12 to 18 months after the console launch.
The upcoming GTA 6 will have two editions, notably the Standard Edition and the Ultimate Edition. Indian gamers can purchase the Standard Edition for Rs 5,999, while the Ultimate Edition will cost Rs 7,499. The Standard Edition includes the base version of Grand Theft Auto VI, while with the Ultimate Edition you will get everything included in the Standard Edition along with the Ultimate Edition Upgrade. Interested gamers can also check out the pre-order for GTA 6, which is currently live on the PlayStation and Xbox stores.
