Google Keyboard updated with spoken emoji
HIGHLIGHTS

Google Keyboard updated to ver 3.1.19633, now supports telling your Android phone to make a smiley face and more.

Google Keyboard's latest version 3.1.19633 adds support for spoken emoji, new voice input shortcut and a few other tweaks. The update will be rolled out in stages, or users can grab the APK and install it manually.

The new version brings support for spoken Emoji that allows you to add select emoji using hotwords such as “smiley face”, “sad face” and a few others. The voice input shortcut has also been placed in the suggestions box on the right side instead of next to the space bar. The update also brings support for new input languages including Indian English, Basque, Swiss Italian, Latin American Spanish and Galician.

Google is also rolling a small update to its Gmail app, bringing it to version 4.9. The update brings the ability to insert a file from your Drive account into the email and the recipient can just click on it and be taken to the Drive version. If the file is not shared with the recipient you will also get an option to change the sharing settings before you send it. Another feature is smarter auto-correct that will show contacts in the To, Cc, and Bcc fields, when you type the first letter.

Google had rolled a new update for its Maps this week, that allows users measure the exact distances between multiple places. The feature was earlier launched under the experimental Google Labs options, but now has been rolled out as a part of the main service.
