A colleague recently asked me which 55-inch Mini LED TV is worth buying for under Rs 50,000. It is a good question to ask during the ongoing festive sales, as this price range now includes TVs with Mini LED backlighting, 4K resolution, HDR support and gaming features. These models are worth considering if you are upgrading from a standard LED TV and want better contrast, brighter highlights and a more engaging experience when watching films, sports or playing games.
There is also a practical reason to compare prices now. Some TV makers have signalled price increases due to higher component, raw-material, freight and currency costs. This does not mean every TV on this list will become more expensive. However, festive offers and coupon discounts can change quickly, and current prices may not last once promotional stocks run out.

The Philips 55MLED610/94 is a strong all-round choice for buyers who watch a mix of films, sports and television shows. Its 4K QD-Mini LED display supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+, covering two important HDR formats used by streaming services. The 120Hz panel, along with variable refresh rate (VRR) and auto low latency mode (ALLM), also makes it worth considering for gaming and fast-moving content.
Google TV provides access to popular streaming apps, while built-in Chromecast makes it easy to cast compatible content from a phone. The 36W speaker system with Dolby Atmos is useful for everyday viewing, although a dedicated soundbar can still improve sound separation and bass.
At its current sale price, the Philips combines a strong display feature set with a familiar smart-TV platform. It is the most balanced option in this selection.
A Rs 1,250 coupon, if applicable, brings the effective price down to Rs 43,749.

The Vu Glo MiniLED is worth considering if you want a feature-rich television without immediately investing in a soundbar. Its 4K QD-Mini LED panel has a claimed HDR brightness of 600 nits and supports full-array local dimming. These features can help improve contrast and make bright highlights stand out in HDR content.
It supports Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG. Vu also advertises a 120Hz High Speed Refresh feature, along with VRR, ALLM and motion processing. Buyers should check the exact refresh mode available with their preferred gaming device, as a high-speed refresh feature is not always the same as a native 120Hz panel.
The 50W 2.2-channel VuFX sound system, with dedicated woofers and Dolby Atmos support, is a key attraction. Google TV, Chromecast and Apple AirPlay add useful streaming and casting options.
The trade-off is storage. The TV has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which is less than the 32GB offered by some rivals here. Even so, the display and audio combination makes it a well-rounded alternative to the Philips.

The Xiaomi TV FX Mini LED 55 is the most affordable option here after the Thomson, and its price makes Mini LED technology more accessible. It combines a 4K QD-Mini LED display with Xiaomi’s Vivid Picture Engine 2 for picture processing and upscaling. HDR10+ support and Filmmaker Mode are useful for viewers who watch a lot of films and streaming content.
There is an important distinction to make about its refresh rate. The panel is listed at 60Hz, with a DLG 120Hz mode for gaming. This is not the same as a native 120Hz panel, so buyers looking for full-resolution 120Hz gaming should keep that limitation in mind.
The Fire TV interface brings popular streaming apps and Alexa integration. The TV also supports Dolby Audio and DTS sound processing, but its 20W speaker system is modest compared with the Vu and Thomson. You may want to budget for a soundbar if built-in audio matters to you.
The main appeal is the price. At Rs 37,499, it offers a Mini LED display, Fire TV and useful picture features without pushing the budget towards Rs 50,000. A Rs 700 coupon, if applicable, reduces the price to Rs 36,799.

The Thomson TH55QDMini1066 is the cheapest TV on this list. It is listed as a 55-inch 4K Mini LED model and supports Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG. Its listed brightness is 500 nits, while the advertised 120Hz refresh rate, VRR and ALLM make it worth a look for sports and gaming.
Its biggest advantage is the built-in sound system. The TV has four speakers with a combined rated output of 80W and Dolby Atmos support. This is substantially more power on paper than the other TVs in this selection, although speaker output alone does not establish sound quality.
It runs Google TV and includes 2GB RAM and 32GB storage. The main limitation is connectivity, with only two HDMI ports and two USB ports. This may feel restrictive if you plan to connect a set-top box, gaming console and soundbar.
There is another point worth checking before buying. The retailer listing identifies this as a Mini LED TV, but its published specifications do not detail the local-dimming method or the number of dimming zones. Buyers should confirm these details if precise backlight control is a major reason for choosing Mini LED.
At Rs 35,399, the Thomson is worth considering for those who want a large 4K screen, strong advertised audio output and a low purchase price.

The Samsung Vision AI M2EH is aimed at buyers who prefer Samsung’s smart-TV platform and connected-device features. Its Mini LED backlighting works with the Mini LED Processor 4K, while HDR10+ support, 4K upscaling and Filmmaker Mode provide useful options for everyday viewing.
The TV runs Tizen and includes Samsung Vision AI Companion, Apple AirPlay and SmartThings integration. Samsung also promises up to seven years of Tizen OS upgrades for eligible 2026 TVs, subject to its terms. The 30W speaker system supports Object Tracking Sound Lite and Q-Symphony for compatible Samsung soundbars.
However, the 55-inch M2EH is listed as a 60Hz model. It supports features such as Motion Xcelerator, VRR and ALLM, but buyers should not confuse these with a native 120Hz panel. It also lacks Dolby Vision support, which is available on some competing models here.
A Rs 2,200 coupon, if applicable, could bring the effective price down to Rs 44,790. At this price, the Samsung makes most sense for buyers who prioritise Tizen, Samsung’s wider ecosystem and its software support. The Philips and Vu offer more compelling combinations of display and audio features for buyers who are less attached to Samsung’s platform.

The Philips 55MLED610/94 is my pick for the best all-round experience under Rs 50,000. It combines Mini LED backlighting, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, a listed 120Hz panel and Google TV at a competitive sale price.
The Vu Glo MiniLED is a strong alternative if built-in audio matters to you. The Xiaomi TV FX Mini LED is the value pick, particularly if you want to spend less than Rs 40,000 and can accept its 60Hz panel and 20W speakers. The Thomson is worth considering at its lower price, but its limited HDMI connectivity and lack of detailed local-dimming specifications are worth keeping in mind. Samsung is the better fit for buyers who value Tizen and Samsung’s software ecosystem over refresh rate or Dolby Vision support.
Besides this, the Hisense 55 Inch 55E8S Hi-QLED MiniLED is also worth considering if you can spend Rs 50,490.
Regardless of what you pick, before ordering, check the final checkout price, coupon eligibility, installation charges, and warranty terms.
