Amazing low light captures: Nigtography and Astrolapse
Let’s straightaway dive into the main course of our adventure. After braving adverse weather and sleepless nights, we finally reached Hanle, the first Dark Sky Reserve in India. The sky was reasonably clear, and it was the perfect opportunity to put the Galaxy F54 5G's low-light capabilities to the test.
Nightography brings a combination of software and hardware optimizations that help you capture stunning visuals from both front and rear cameras even in low-light scenes. The Galaxy F54 5G leverages large pixels and OIS to capture more light while employing AI processing on up to 12 frames to produce clearer and sharper images. The Auto Night Mode seamlessly activates these enhancements for both front and rear cameras.
We managed to capture some really amazing low-light shots. Take a look and you'll see that shadows remain detailed, noise is kept to a minimum, and the highlights retain their intricate details. The phone excelled at capturing the texture of the dark night sky while preserving the true colours and fine details of our tent, illuminated by camp lights. This is really impressive for a phone in this price segment!
But, of course, the true reward of all our efforts was the Astrolapse mode! We were a little skeptical to begin with since to capture all those tiny stars in such low light conditions you need long exposure times, good quality camera sensor, and intelligent software – which are features you see in phones priced a lot higher than the Galaxy F54 5G.
We were, however, pleasantly surprised. The Astrolapse videos speak for themselves! It’s amazing that the Galaxy F54 performed so well and could capture the night sky in stunning detail.
No Shake Cam for Stable Videos
Another impressive feature of the Galaxy F54 5G is the No Shake Cam, which utilizes a combination of optical image stabilization (OIS) and video digital image stabilization (VDIS) at a high frequency of 1000Hz. We put this feature to the test by capturing the breathtaking landscapes of the Uttarakhand hills from a moving car. Despite the bumpy mountain road, the Galaxy F54 5G effectively counteracted the shakes, delivering exceptionally crisp and stable footage in stunning 4K resolution at 30 frames per second (fps).
Furthermore, not only does the phone offer 4K video recording at 30 fps with its primary camera, but it also extends this capability to the wide and selfie cameras.
