Aswani Dutt, the film is based on Hindu scriptures and unfolds in a post-apocalyptic world in the year 2898 AD. The narrative is set against the backdrop of both ancient Indian mythology and a distant futuristic dystopian society in the mystical city of Kasi (present-day Varanasi). The story spans millennia, from the epic events of the Mahabharata in 3102 BCE to the distant year of 2898 AD. It centers around Kalki, the tenth and final incarnation of the Hindu deity Lord Vishnu, who is prophesied to be the harbinger of the end of the Kali Yuga, a pivotal epoch in Vaishnava cosmology. Kalki serves as a catalyst for profound societal and existential shifts that transcend the boundaries of time and space. The film promises to be a grand spectacle, featuring a star-studded cast including Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani. The film also made history by being the first Indian film presented at San Diego Comic-Con’s prestigious “Hall-H” on 20 July 2023.
