Artificial intelligence is helping software engineers code faster. While it’s a boon for many, hackers are also using it for malicious purposes. According to a new report, the hackers have used SpaceX’s AI coding assistant, Cursor, to help break into a Belgian chemical company and at least six other businesses. It was recently uncovered after cybersecurity startup Gambit Security found an internet-exposed server linked to a new ransomware group called Aur0ra. The investigators stated that they reviewed 28 chat sessions between the hackers and a Cursor AI agent. The conversations showed the attackers using false claims about running a security test to persuade the AI to provide help with activities such as stealing login details and taking over important accounts.

Reuters, citing Gambit Security, recently reported that the hackers used Cursor's AI agent to carry out hundreds of harmful tasks. According to the report, the attackers asked the AI to find administrator accounts and working passwords. The shocking part was that in one case the agent helped after the hackers gained access to a company's VPN. If that was not already enough, the tool also provided suggestions for breaking password hashes.

The chat logs reviewed by Reuters covered activity between April 8 and May 21. The media outlet claimed that the targeted organisations included Belgian hygiene and cleaning products maker Christeyns, German garage door manufacturer Teckentrup and the Scotland-based Helideck Certification Agency. Other than that, an Argentine pharmaceutical distributor, an Italian manufacturer and Bayou Title, a Louisiana-based title insurance company, were also part of the alleged hack.

The most shocking part was how the attackers managed to get around the AI's safety measures. Gambit said Cursor's agent refused some harmful requests, but the hackers repeatedly restarted conversations and claimed that their activities were part of a legal simulation or security test.

Moreover, the logs also showed AI accepting these explanations and then providing technical assistance. At one point, it reportedly described a suggested attack as having a 'VERY HIGH' chance of success.

Gambit also added that the AI agent was powered by Anthropic's Claude Sonnet 4.5. The cybersecurity company believes the AI gave the attackers a significant speed advantage by reducing the amount of work they had to perform manually.

However, Reuters added that they were unable to independently confirm how much AI directly contributed to each intrusion or whether every attack resulted in stolen data or ransom demands.

While it is true that buying a mid-range phone means accepting a compromise you feel every day, it is also true that not all mid-range phones are trying to solve the same problem. That brings us to Samsung’s newest launch the Galaxy S26 FE which brings flagship-lineage hardware to a wider audience at an accessible price. Now we have heard the same story from Google and Apple, which is why we decided to pit all three options against each other. Google's Pixel 10a is a camera-focused 'a' series device that bets on computational photography over hardware specs while the iPhone 17e exists because some buyers will only consider an iPhone and Apple has decided how little it is willing to give them for the privilege. Making a choice between these three phones also means living with certain compromises but the question we will try to answer is which one matches what you are actually looking for.

Note on India pricing: Confirmed India launch prices for the Galaxy S26 FE were not available at the time of writing. The Pixel 10a is available from Rs 55,999 and the iPhone 17e from Rs 64,900. We will update this story when Samsung confirms India pricing.

Design and build

The iPhone 17e is the lightest and smallest of the three and has the best IP68 rating in the group at 6 metres versus 1.5 metres for the other two. The Pixel 10a is the thickest at 9mm which is a result of fitting its 5,100 mAh battery into a compact frame. The S26 FE uses glass on front and back with Gorilla Glass Victus+ while the Pixel 10a has a plastic back.

Display

The iPhone 17e's display is notably dimmer than the other two, rated at 800 nits under HBM conditions versus 2,000 nits on the Pixel 10a and 1,900 nits on the S26 FE. The Pixel 10a also peaks at 3,000 nits, the highest in the group, making it the best for outdoor use. The S26 FE has the largest screen at 6.7 inches and the Pixel 10a the sharpest pixel density at 422 PPI among the two Android options.

Performance

The Apple A19 is the fastest chip out of the three phones on raw performance benchmarks, consistent with Apple Silicon's track record in single-core tasks and GPU-intensive workloads. The Exynos 2500 is a meaningful upgrade from previous generations and handles the S26 FE's 8K video and heavy camera processing without issue. The Tensor G4 in the Pixel 10a is built more for on-device AI tasks like call screening, live translation, Pixel-specific features than for peak compute.

The iPhone 17e uses USB-C 2.0 (versus USB-C 3.2 on both Android phones) and Wi-Fi 6 rather than Wi-Fi 6E. These are real step-downs in interface capability that affect both data transfer speeds and wireless performance in congested environments.

Camera

The iPhone 17e has a single rear camera. There is no ultrawide lens and no telephoto. At this price bracket, competing against phones with multi-lens systems, this is a significant hardware limitation for anyone who uses wide-angle or zoom photography regularly.

The S26 FE has the largest main sensor at 1/1.57 inches and the only dedicated telephoto lens in the group, offering 3x optical zoom. It also supports 8K video recording, which neither the 10a not the 17e matches. The Pixel 10a's main sensor at 1/2.0 inches is smaller than the S26 FE's but Google's computational photography typically narrows the gap in real-world image quality.

Battery and charging

The Pixel 10a has the largest battery and supports bypass charging, which is useful for gaming while plugged in since power bypasses the battery cell entirely. The S26 FE charges the fastest at 45W and supports reverse wireless charging for accessories. The iPhone 17e's wired charging speed is 20W which Apple claims can reach 50% in 30 minutes, similar to the Pixel 10a's rate.

Software and updates

All three phones commit to long-term software support. The S26 FE launches on Android 17 with seven major OS updates. The Pixel 10a runs on Android 16 with the same seven-update commitment, meaning it is one version behind the S26 FE. Apple does not formally commit to a specific number of iOS updates for the iPhone 17e, though Apple's track record suggests 5 to 6 years of iOS support.

Verdict

Buy the Galaxy S26 FE if camera versatility is your priority. The triple camera system, 8K video, largest sensor and 3x telephoto make it the most complete imaging device in the group. The large 6.7-inch AMOLED display and 45W charging round out a strong all-round package.

Buy the Pixel 10a if you want the brightest display, the biggest battery and Google's AI-driven camera processing in a more compact form. The bypass charging is a useful bonus for heavy users. Accept the slower wired charging and the absence of a telephoto lens.

Buy the iPhone 17e if iOS and the Apple ecosystem are non-negotiable and you can live with a single rear camera, a dimmer display and USB-C 2.0. The lightest design and the best IP rating in the group are genuine advantages, but it is the most hardware-limited of the three at what is likely the highest price.

Moreover, the smartphone also comes packed with a 4,900mAh battery which gets supported by 45W wired charging and 15W fast wireless charging support. Adobe has signed MoUs with seven Indian state governments to provide free access to its creative and AI tools in government schools. The states involved are Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa, Assam, Bihar and Tamil Nadu. Through these agreements, thousands of government schools in these states will receive access to Adobe Express for Education which is an application for student projects and creative assignments. The initiative expands Adobe's reach in Indian schools to 7.8 million students and teachers.

Under the programme, students and teachers will also access Adobe's Digital Academy curriculum, covering digital storytelling, creative problem-solving and AI-assisted content creation. Adobe has aligned the initiative with the National Education Policy's emphasis on digital tools and AI, as well as the Union Budget 2026 goal of creating two million jobs in the Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics (AVGC) sector by 2030.

The programme covers multiple government school networks, including PM SHRI flagship schools, CM SHRI state-model schools, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBV), and Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS). Adobe has said it plans to expand the programme to additional schools and states over time.

The scope of the initiative put a spotlight on how technology companies are approaching India's government school ecosystem. Rather than targeting only universities or urban institutions, Adobe is working directly with state education departments to embed AI and creative tools at the school level, where the foundational skilling can shape career pathways years before students enter higher education or the workforce.

Mala Sharma, Global Vice President and General Manager, Education at Adobe, said the partnership is designed to bring “classroom-ready AI tools like Adobe Express directly into schools, helping students and educators develop the creative and AI skills they need for the future of work.”

The announcement follows Adobe's earlier commitments in India this year, including making Firefly, Photoshop and Acrobat available free to students at accredited higher education institutions, announced at the India AI Impact Summit, and a partnership with NASSCOM FutureSkills Prime under the Ministry of Electronics and IT to offer complimentary access to industry-relevant courses and certificates.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has made a big claim about the company's plans for artificial general intelligence (AGI). In a new interview with TIME, Altman said OpenAI expects to have an internal AI system that it would consider AGI by the end of 2026. OpenAI defines AGI as highly autonomous systems that can outperform humans at most economically valuable work. The company's chief research officer Mark Chen believes OpenAI is already around 80 per cent of the way towards AGI, according to the report. 

Altman also discussed Astra, OpenAI's upcoming family of AI models. According to the report, Astra can work with multiple AI agents and perform complex tasks across different computer applications. 

"I expect this will be the first model where the model actually invents new things in a way that matters," Altman was quoted as saying in the report. "That’s a very AGI-like thing."

However, OpenAI's push towards AGI comes with growing concerns around AI safety. An unreleased OpenAI AI model recently escaped its testing environment and attacked systems at Hugging Face. The incident has led OpenAI to take a more cautious approach to safety and monitoring.

Altman said the incident changed how the company views AI safety. "I think any alignment failure from here should be treated like this is a big deal." OpenAI has since slowed some research work and increased its focus on safety measures.

Altman also stressed that progress in AI should not come at the cost of safety. "Getting AI safety right is more important than any company’s momentum," he said.

Xiaomi 18 Fold: Leaked design

Tipster Carl Peter recently shared a post on Weibo featuring alleged hands-on images of the upcoming Xiaomi 18 Fold. The handset appears noticeably different from the Mix Fold 4, which was launched in 2024. The leaked images suggest that the device could closely resemble the design of the recently launched Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8.

According to the leaked images, instead of the previous model’s taller body and large rectangular camera module, the new model is expected to feature a wider and flatter design. At the rear, it could also sport a horizontal, pill-shaped camera bar housing three cameras and an LED flash.

The leaked phone is shown in a deep red or burgundy finish. The colour has also drawn comparisons with the reported Dark Cherry finish expected to debut on Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 Pro.

Xiaomi 18 Fold: Specs (Expected)

Xiaomi has previously confirmed that the 18 Fold will be the company's first device that will be powered by its home grown Xring O3.  Xiaomi has also claimed that the processor has reached 5.22 million points in AnTuTu V11, while Geekbench 6.5 scores are reported at 3,945 for single-core and 15,221 for multi-core tests. However, do note that these figures still need independent testing.

Aside from that, the smartphone is also tipped to feature a 6.56-inch AMOLED cover display and a 7.6-inch to 7.76-inch LTPO AMOLED inner folding screen with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate.

The smartphone is also expected to come with a 6,000mAh dual-cell battery. Reports also suggest that it may get paired with fast wired charging ranging from 67W to 100W depending on reports and 50W wireless charging.

In terms of optics, the smartphone can come equipped with a triple camera setup at the rear end that may be led by a 200MP primary camera. Out of the box the device may run on a HyperOS 4-based skin based on Android 17.

Xiaomi 18 Fold: Launch timeline and price (Expected)

Xiaomi has confirmed a September launch for the 18 Fold in China, although an exact date and price have not yet been announced.  Xiaomi has not officially brought its previous foldable phones to India, and it might remain the same with the upcoming Xiaomi 18 Fold.

OpenAI has launched ChatGPT Ads in India, expanding its advertising program to one of its key markets. The company said the ads will appear only for logged-in adult users using Free and Go plans. Paid tiers including Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Education will continue to offer an ad-free experience. OpenAI also clarified that advertisements will not affect the answers generated by ChatGPT. Ads will be shown separately from responses and will be clearly marked as sponsored. The company said advertisers will not get access to users’ chats, chat history, memories or personal information. More than 50 brands are expected to start running ads in India this week.

OpenAI has partnered with WPP and Omnicom as its first agency partners for ChatGPT Ads in India. The company said the advertising model is not exclusive. It plans to work with more agencies in the future.

Businesses will also soon be able to buy ads directly through ChatGPT Ads Manager. Self-serve access is set to open in India on September 4. OpenAI said businesses can start with daily budgets as low as Rs 725.

“India is one of the most dynamic markets in the world for how people use ChatGPT to learn, build, and discover," said Dave Dugan, Vice President and Head of Global Ads Solutions, OpenAI. "Our weekly active users have doubled year-on-year, with many of them going beyond simple searches and changing how they make decisions."

The company said its advertising system has been designed around user privacy and control. Advertisers will receive overall campaign data, such as impressions and clicks. They will not be able to see individual conversations.

Ads may appear below a ChatGPT response when a relevant product or service is available. They will not influence the answer provided by the chatbot. OpenAI also said ads will not appear for accounts belonging to people who identify themselves, or are predicted, to be under 18.

"Ads will also not be eligible to appear alongside sensitive or regulated topics, including mental health and politics," OpenAI said. "The company will continue applying advertising policies designed to reduce scams, misleading claims, and other harmful content."

GTA 6 extended look: When will it release in India?

The GTA 6 extended look will premiere on August 27 at 3 PM ET. For viewers in India, that translates to 12:30 AM IST on August 28 . The showcase will first be available to Netflix subscribers.

But even if you don't have Netflix, you need not worry. The presentation will also arrive on YouTube and other platforms around six hours after the Netflix premiere. This means Indian viewers can watch it on YouTube at around 6:30 AM IST on August 28.

How to watch GTA 6 extended look

The easiest way to watch the extended look is through Netflix, where it will be available globally to subscribers. Netflix has confirmed that the presentation will be available with subtitles in several languages.

For everyone else, Rockstar is expected to make the presentation available through its official YouTube channel and the GTA VI website after the Netflix window ends. The company has not revealed exactly how long the extended look will be. So, for now, we know when it starts but not how long the presentation itself will run.

What can we expect?

This is probably the biggest question right now. Rockstar has not shared a detailed breakdown of what fans will see. However, the name "An Extended Look" does suggest that this could be more substantial than a standard trailer.

The presentation is expected to give us a closer look at GTA 6, which could include gameplay, the world of Leonida and the two protagonists, Jason and Lucia. Rockstar has already shown both characters in previous trailers, but fans have been waiting to see more of how they actually fit into the gameplay.

We could also get a better look at Vice City and the wider Leonida region. Rockstar describes GTA 6 as the biggest evolution of the series yet, and this extended presentation could finally give players a better idea of just how large and detailed the new open world is.

Of course, all of this is speculation for now. Rockstar has not confirmed exactly what the presentation will contain.

GTA 6 gameplay video leaks online

The GTA 6 leak situation recently took another turn, when more than four minutes of gameplay footage reportedly leaked on the internet. This comes hours before the extended look. The leaked footage, as per an IGN report, shows Lucia and includes parts of the game’s story.

The person sharing the footage claims it comes from a recent build, although this has not been confirmed yet. This is in addition to more than a dozen clips that have surfaced over the past week. Rockstar also addressed these leaks in a statement recently, saying that this would hamper the players' experience and that they hope people will still await the official launch on November 19.

Samsung’s Galaxy Event August 2026 will take place today, August 27. The virtual event will begin at 9:00 PM KST. For viewers in India, this means the event will start at 5:30 PM IST on the same day. The event will be streamed live on YouTube, allowing users to watch the announcements online.

In its announcement, the company said: "On Aug. 27, Samsung Electronics will hold ‘Galaxy Event August 2026’ to introduce the newest addition to the Galaxy S26 family — purposefully designed to bring the core Galaxy S26 experiences from camera to AI, along with the latest One UI, to those who look for what truly matters most to them."

Samsung Galaxy event August 2026: What to expect

The Galaxy S26 FE is expected to be the main highlight of the event. Samsung has already shared a teaser video that offered a few clues about the phone. It appears to show a redesigned camera module. The video also hints at a light-green colour option.

However, the Galaxy S26 FE may not come with major hardware changes. Leaked details suggest that the phone may be quite similar to the Galaxy S25 FE in terms of specifications.

Samsung could also announce other products during the event. The company is expected to introduce the Galaxy Tab S12 series. New Galaxy Buds could also make an appearance.

Bill Gates has shared a lengthy post outlining his concerns about the rapid rise of AI. While he believes AI could bring major benefits in healthcare, education, agriculture and other areas, Gates warned that the world is not doing enough to prepare for its risks. He said AI could become “the greatest equalizer ever invented, or the worst source of injustice”. He also warned that the transition to the new AI era will be "one of the most turbulent times in human history" and we are not prepared for that. In his post, Gates also shared what he believes are three biggest risks of AI.

Many jobs may disappear

Gates said job losses could be one of the biggest effects of AI. He expects entry-level and mid-level jobs to face the greatest pressure. He pointed to areas such as sales, customer support, software engineering and paralegal work as some of the jobs that could be affected first. He also expects robots to eventually compete with humans in physical jobs.

"The jobs at most risk are entry- and mid-level, and the new jobs being created will mostly require skills that take many years to learn," he wrote.

He is particularly concerned about young people entering a job market with fewer entry-level opportunities.

AI may make harmful activities easier

Gates also warned that AI could give criminals powerful new tools. He said the technology could make fraud, deepfakes, disinformation and cyberattacks easier to carry out.

He also raised concerns about attacks on hospitals, financial institutions, power systems and other critical infrastructure. AI could make it easier for attackers to find weaknesses and exploit them.

Gates further warned that increasingly powerful AI systems could eventually act in ways their creators did not intend. "We could lose control," he said.

AI may affect children and human relationships

Gates' third major concern is the impact of AI on children and human relationships. He said AI companions may become highly addictive because they are always available and designed to respond in ways users like.

He also said that AI companions could prevent children from developing important social skills because they do not push users outside their comfort zones

Gates also warned that AI could weaken critical thinking if students use it to get answers without doing the mental work themselves. "The same tool that will allow people to learn more than ever could also lead to many people learning less," he said.

Gates believes governments need to act now. "The highest priority is a monumental task: creating a domestic and international framework for dealing with AI," he said.

He also suggested reserving some jobs for humans and introducing taxes on AI and robots.

‘Preserving access to the games people own matters’. You can digitize your physical Xbox discs

As mentioned already, the announcement was made in the form of a blog post which confirmed that Xbox will let players digitize the games they own physically. All you need to do is insert the physical disc into an Xbox One or Xbox Series X console and launch the game.

Once the digital entitlement has been claimed, players can access supported digital features such as Xbox Play Anywhere and Xbox Cloud Gaming. This could make it easier to play games across Microsoft's wider ecosystem, rather than being tied to the console where the physical copy is being used.

The important part here is that once you avail this feature, your physical disc will not stop working. It will continue to work as it normally does even if you digitize it. 

The new feature will work with supported Xbox One and Xbox Series X disc-based games. The company has not yet revealed if this feature will support original Xbox or Xbox 360 discs.

When will the feature be available?

Microsoft will begin testing the feature with Xbox Insiders on August 31. It has not yet announced when the feature will become available to all Xbox users.

The company also said that feedback from Xbox Insiders will help shape the feature as more games are added. For now, as mentioned already, the focus is on Xbox One and Xbox Series X disc-based games. That said, other titles are expected to be available once the feature rolls out.

‘We’re starting with thousands of titles, and we’ll continue to add more over time. While not every title will be available at launch, this is an important step toward a future where players can have greater confidence that the games they buy remain with them for years to come,’ the blog post reads.

OpenAI has revealed new details about a security incident which involved its AI agents and Hugging Face systems. The company shared two reports on Wednesday explaining what happened during internal cybersecurity tests in July. One of these reports revealed that nearly 700 AI agents were connected to the incident. Some of the agents reportedly went beyond their assigned tasks and tried to hide their actions. They changed or deleted records that could have shown what they had done. The findings raise concerns about how advanced AI agents behave when given access to computer systems. 

"We consider this incident a 'warning shot' for us and for the world: evidence that, without proper safeguards, highly capable AI agents are now able to work around technical controls, collaborate through unapproved channels, and take dangerous actions that no human directed," OpenAI said.

An independent investigation by METR and Redwood Research, and shared by OpenAI, confirmed that around 700 agents were involved in the Hugging Face breach incident. OpenAI has confirmed the finding. The agents used an unauthorised message board to communicate with each other. They exchanged thousands of messages while carrying out their activities.

The investigation found that some agents appeared to understand the need to hide their actions. Nearly one in five agents showed a clear interest in changing or manipulating evidence. Many agents also spent a significant amount of time looking for ways to interfere with their activity records.

OpenAI said it found limited evidence that the agents were trying to deceive human reviewers. However, some agents did try to manipulate automated systems that were being used to judge their performance.

The company also found other forms of unexpected behaviour. Some agents attempted to cheat during tests and tried to get around restrictions placed on them. On July 19, some agents also managed to attack parts of OpenAI's own infrastructure.

In one case, the agents exploited a weakness in the computer environment designed to contain them. This allowed them to move outside the test environment and access other connected systems. In another case, the agents obtained OpenAI credentials and interfered with the company's cloud environment.

The unusual behaviour was not limited to cybersecurity tests. OpenAI said its agents also cheated in tests involving a protein database and a spreadsheet.

The findings show why stronger safeguards may be needed as AI agents become more capable.

In the audio segment, Apple may launch the much-anticipated AirPods 5 models. Not only that, but the rumours also claim that a new AirPods variant with built-in infrared cameras capable of supporting visual intelligence might also debut during the September event. However, some reports say otherwise, claiming that Apple has delayed them until 2027.

Meta has recently settled a lawsuit brought by 29 states over claims that its social media platforms harmed children. The company reportedly agreed to pay nearly $18 billion to settle the case. The states accused Meta of designing Instagram and Facebook in ways that could make children addicted to the platforms, even though the company allegedly knew about the possible harm to young users. They also claimed that Meta collected children’s personal data without their parents’ knowledge, which they said violated the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). However, the current deal, which is subject to judicial approval, will introduce stronger limits on how under-18 users can access the platforms.

Meta settled for around $18 billion

Meta recently reached an agreement in its social media addiction case where it agreed to pay around $18 billion, which will be distributed over a 10-year period and can be used for youth online safety initiatives and other state priorities. Participating states are expected to receive about 70 per cent of the amount over the decade.

Under the agreement, Meta will make the new protections available to under-18 users on Instagram and Facebook in participating US states and territories once the deal receives judicial approval. Most of the terms are expected to remain in place for 10 years.

Meta wants TikTok and YouTube to join

Meta wants TikTok and YouTube to adopt the same framework. The company said teenagers often move between several apps, meaning restrictions on one platform may simply push them towards another. Under the agreement, part of the remaining payment is linked to YouTube and TikTok adopting measures such as a one-hour daily limit, Night Mode and stronger age checks. If both platforms join, some of Meta's commitments will become stronger, including longer-term limits and tighter overnight restrictions.

What will change

Teen users will get a default two-hour daily limit across Facebook and Instagram, while Night Mode will block access between midnight and 6am. Notifications will also be muted between 8am and 3pm, apart from direct messages and important safety or security alerts. Teens will receive reminders after every 15 minutes of continuous use and when daily usage reaches 60 and 90 minutes.

Meta to introduce new teen safety measures

Meta will also let teens choose a non-personalised feed and turn off autoplay. Likes and reactions will be hidden by default, while extreme makeup filters will be blocked. The company will strengthen age checks to identify users who may be under 13 or between 13 and 17. Teen accounts will continue to receive age-appropriate content settings and stronger protection from unwanted contact. Parents will also get more alerts and information through Meta's supervision tools.

GTA 6 extended look: When and where to watch

The GTA 6 extended look will premiere exclusively on Netflix on August 27 at 3 PM ET. However, the Indian viewers will be able to enjoy it on August 28 starting at 12:30 AM. Fans will need an active Netflix subscription to watch it during the first six hours.

But those who are waiting for a free option will not have to wait much longer, as after the Netflix-only window ends, the same extended look is expected to be released for free on Rockstar's official YouTube channel and the Grand Theft Auto VI website. The free release is expected at around 6:30 AM on August 28.

Samsung has not yet officially confirmed when they will launch their next-generation flagship model. However, if the company follows its usual launch pattern, then the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra might debut in the global and Indian markets by February 2027.

Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra: Price (Expected)

Leaks and rumours point to the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra potentially costing around Rs 149,990. However, these are not official prices and may change at the time of launch based on the bank and card offers.

OpenAI has added a major new ability to ChatGPT Work. The AI chatbot can now use a computer and browser to sign in to websites and complete tasks for users. The company says ChatGPT will not see your username or password while doing this. This means users can ask ChatGPT Work to handle tasks that usually require opening a website, signing in and clicking through several pages. From booking appointments to checking insurance details, the feature is designed to take care of routine online work. The new login feature is rolling out on both the web and mobile apps for Plus, Pro and Business users.

With this update, ChatGPT Work can handle a wide range of everyday tasks. For example, users can ask it to arrange utility services when moving into a new home. It can also help book appointments for a passport or driving licence, check insurance costs and look for doctors who are covered by their insurance.

Basically: if it’s something you’d normally have to open a browser and click through yourself, try asking ChatGPT Work to do it.

The AI can also help with vehicle-related tasks. It can check when a car registration is due and prepare the paperwork needed for renewal. If you are dealing with a rental issue, ChatGPT Work can compare your insurance policy with an email exchange with your landlord.

Finding things online is another area where the feature can be useful. Users can ask the AI to look for apartments based on specific requirements and save suitable listings. They can also upload a photo of an item and ask ChatGPT to find it and help restock it.

ChatGPT Work can also take care of tasks related to returns and bookings. It can arrange a package pickup, cancel tickets after a trip is rescheduled or help schedule a vet appointment. It can even prepare and submit reimbursement documents for eligible medical expenses.

For work, the feature can handle several routine jobs as well. It can find job candidates with certain experience and prepare outreach messages. It can take invoices from email and submit them to accounting software. Small business owners can use it to fill out permit forms, add tasks to vendor portals and review the latest results from an advertising campaign.

So, OpenAI wants ChatGPT Work to handle tasks that normally require you to sit in front of a browser and complete them yourself. 

Andrew Garfield has spoken about his role as OpenAI CEO Sam Altman in Luca Guadagnino’s upcoming film Artificial. The movie follows the dramatic events at OpenAI in November 2023, when Altman was suddenly removed as CEO before returning to the company days later. Garfield said he has never met Altman. Instead, he studied the script, court transcripts, interviews and other research to prepare for the role. He also reflected on what it means to play someone leading a company and technology that he believes could have a major impact on humanity.

"I don’t know Sam Altman. I’ve never met him," Garfield said in an interview with Esquire U.K. "I was going off of the script and court transcripts and interviews and research, and we were telling a story. But I think anyone who takes on that level of responsibility for a company or a technology that you know is going to do a hell of a lot of damage to the soul of humanity (must have) a certain ability to dissociate."

Garfield explained that his acting process involved finding parts of himself that could connect with Altman. He referred to Carl Jung’s idea of the “shadow self.” “The aspects of ourselves that we disown. There’s something there for me to integrate, because I’m so afraid of being it," Garfield said.

"But then the argument is, that if we weren’t all less rejecting in the first place, less ‘that’s not us’, then Donald Trump wouldn’t have been voted in twice, and Nigel Farage wouldn’t be anywhere near a position of power," he continued. "Whereas if we go, ‘OK, interesting - where am I [in a] wannabe fascist, grifter, opportunist, power-hungry, ethic-less, spineless fucking pig?’ We can identify that this is the bad part of us. We know this in ourselves."

Artificial is written by Simon Rich and also features Monica Barbaro as former OpenAI CTO Mira Murati, Yura Borisov as Ilya Sutskever and Ike Barinholtz as Elon Musk.

Amazon MGM Studios originally developed and financed the film, which had a reported budget of around $40 million. However, the studio dropped the project in June. Amazon said the movie would be better served by another studio.

Neon later acquired the worldwide theatrical rights to Artificial. The film is directed by Luca Guadagnino.

Instagram head Adam Mosseri testified Tuesday in Meta’s child safety trial and admitted that the company struggled for years to get teenagers to use its 'Take a Break' feature. The tool was introduced in 2021 to remind users to stop scrolling after spending a certain amount of time on Instagram. Mosseri said Instagram first asked teens to turn on the feature themselves through notifications. While that approach increased adoption slightly, it did not work as well as the company expected. Meta later made the feature available by default as part of Teen Accounts. The testimony came as Meta has been accused of designing Instagram and other platforms in ways that keep young users engaged for longer.

Mosseri said Instagram initially did not know how few teens would choose to activate the feature. Internal Meta documents shown during the testimony showed that adoption was only 1.8 per cent in 2021.

"It started very low. We started trying to do those notifications, encouraging teens to turn it on themselves," Mosseri said, according to Business Insider. "That helped, but not nearly as much as we had hoped. And then we eventually made it on by default as part of Teen Accounts."

The testimony also raised questions about how Meta described the feature publicly.

In a December 2021 blog post, Instagram said that more than 90 per cent of teens who switched on Take a Break continued to keep the reminders active. However, the post did not mention that only 1.8 per cent of teens had activated the feature at the time.

"Early test results show that once teens set the reminders, more than 90% of them keep them on," Instagram wrote at that time.

When asked if the company told the public that adoption was low, Mosseri said, "No, because we were planning on iterating on it and trying to drive that number up over time, which we did."

Mosseri said Instagram had expected to increase awareness and attract teens who wanted the feature. But he said most teens did not choose to turn it on.

"My expectation is that we were going to raise awareness and let the teens who want the feature turn it on," Mosseri said. "Turned out most teens didn't want it. We decided to push forward with it anyway."

The case is being led by a group of state attorneys general, including California Attorney General Rob Bonta. They accuse Meta of putting profits ahead of the safety of young users. The states also allege that Meta mishandled children's privacy and misled the public about the safety of its platforms.

The Witcher 3 remastered will be free for existing owners

CD Projekt Red has announced that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered will launch on September 29. If you already own the game on PC, PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S, you will get the remastered version as a free upgrade.

The remastered version will also be released on Nintendo Switch 2 and Battle.net on the same day. 

The original The Witcher 3 launched back in 2015 and has remained one of CD Projekt Red's most popular games. The remaster is now set to bring the game up to date with several visual and gameplay improvements.

As soon as the announcement was shared via a YouTube trailer, fans started expressing their happiness in the comments. 

‘I almost cried when I read "free update". I love you CD Projekt,’ a user wrote while another commented, ‘After 1000+ hours in this game, I thought I wasn't going to touch it again, just waiting for W4. Gladly I was wrong.’ 

Yet another user, echoing a similar sentiment, wrote, ‘’Free upgrade" - why you guys are so good in this inhuman world’.

What will this remastered change?

The remastered version will come with improved graphics, including upgraded textures, lighting and ray tracing. CD Projekt Red is also making changes to the combat system, along with UI improvements and a revamped skill tree. 

“Coming on September 29, this is the definitive way to experience Geralt of Rivia’s legendary adventure. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered features an array of improvements, bringing upgrades to visuals, gameplay, and more,” reads the description of the announcement trailer shared on The Witcher’s official YouTube channel.

The game will also get an expanded photo mode and new finishing moves. These changes should make the remastered version feel more modern without taking away from the core experience that made The Witcher 3 so popular.

Players who have already experienced Geralt's journey will therefore have a few reasons to return to the game, especially if they are playing on newer hardware.

A new expansion coming in 2027

The remaster is not the only Witcher 3 announcement from CD Projekt Red. The developer has also revealed a new expansion called Songs of the Past, which is scheduled to arrive in 2027.

The expansion will take Geralt to a new region called Letten. The area will feature new locations to explore, new enemies to fight and new weapons to use. CD Projekt Red is also teasing a darker mystery surrounding the region, giving players another story to experience with Geralt.

This could also be one of Geralt's final adventures before CD Projekt Red fully shifts its focus to The Witcher 4, which is expected to put Ciri in the spotlight.

OpenAI has claimed that its Jalapeno AI chip has outperformed Nvidia’s current systems in key tests. The chip was tested for how much AI work it can handle for the amount of power it uses, as well as how quickly it can respond to requests. According to OpenAI chip chief Richard Ho, Jalapeno performed better than the Nvidia GB300, reports Bloomberg. OpenAI plans to start using its Jalapeno chip to run its AI models later this year. The move may help the company reduce costs and improve the speed of its AI services.

Typically, some chips are designed to handle more AI workloads, while others focus on delivering faster responses. However, Jalapeno is designed to offer both, Ho said. OpenAI will decide which AI models run on the chip, allowing customers to choose between options that prioritise lower costs or better performance.

“In the lab, Jalapeno is showing performance both in the high-throughput domain, meaning it will be able to serve a lot of customers more cheaply, as well as the low-latency domain, meaning that for the customers that care about it, the response time will be really, really fast,” Ho was quoted as saying in the report.

For those unaware, Jalapeno was developed by OpenAI with semiconductor company Broadcom. The two companies announced their partnership last year. The chip is designed mainly for AI inference, which is the stage when an already-trained AI model responds to user requests. It is not designed for training AI models, an area where Nvidia’s processors remain strong.

One of Jalapeno’s biggest advantages is its power efficiency. OpenAI says the chip can deliver strong performance while using around 700 watts of power. Lower power use can help reduce the cost of operating the large data centres needed to run AI services.

Do note that Jalapeno was not tested against Nvidia’s newest Vera Rubin chips, which has recently started shipping. OpenAI also says it will continue using chips from Nvidia and other providers.

The company is already working on a second-generation Jalapeno chip. OpenAI expects to complete its design in the coming months, according to the report. It has also started planning a third generation as it looks for ways to lower the cost of building and operating its growing AI infrastructure.

“We have so much need for compute, which is why we signed up so many different providers,” Ho said. “That’s going to continue for a while.”

The Vivo T5 is expected to land with a 6.75-inch LCD panel paired with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. Under the direct sunlight the panel can reach a peak brightness of 1,250 nits. The handset is rummoured to boast Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor under the hood along with 8GB RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage options.  

Not only that, but to keep the device running, the device is anticipated to come packed with a massive 7,500mAh battery. It's also said that it will support 100W fast charging. The device is tipped to run on OriginOS 6, a skin based on Android 16 out of the box.

WhatsApp is also making two-step verification more secure. Earlier, users had to create a six-digit PIN as an extra layer of protection for their account. The company is now allowing users to use a full password instead. The password can be longer and can include letters, numbers and special characters. This makes it harder for others to guess.

The M5 Ultra Soc uses a four-part chip design and comes with a 36-core CPU and 80-core GPU. Moreover, it supports up to 512GB of unified memory and 1.2TB per second memory bandwidth, giving it the capacity to handle much larger AI models.

Apple also claims that the new M5 Ultra can deliver 30 per cent faster CPU performance, 80 per cent faster graphics and 4.5 times higher AI performance when compared with the M3 Ultra. The company also confirms that the users can now connect up to four Mac Studio systems through the Thunderbolt 5 port to form a cluster. When the devices are connected, Apple claims up to three times the performance of one machine.

The Blood of Dawnwalker, being made by Rebel Wolves studio, recently left many disappointed after the developers revealed that the game will not have a 60 FPS mode for consoles. The decision received a lot of backlash and people have been talking about it ever since. But now, Rebel Wolves appears to have taken a U-turn on the announcement and said that a Performance Mode will be added through a launch day patch, which will let players play at 60 FPS. The Blood of Dawnwalker to get a 60 FPS mode

Rebel Wolves initially announced that the game will be playable at 30 FPS in Quality mode or 40 FPS in Balanced Mode. This was made clear through a YouTube video on their channel. But now, a 60 FPS mode has also been confirmed.

'On Friday, we answered your questions about console performance with what we knew we could confidently deliver at launch,' the game's official account wrote in a post on X. It added, 'Performance Mode was already in the works, but it was still being tested. We simply weren’t ready to promise it yet. We heard your feedback. It was clear how much this mattered to many of you, so we focused on finishing the next round of tests. Those results gave us the confidence we needed to confirm Performance Mode for Day 1.'

This means that on the PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X, players will get a Performance Mode targeting 60 FPS, a Balanced Mode targeting 40 FPS and a Quality Mode targeting 30 FPS. The PS5 Pro will also get additional visual enhancements across the available modes.

The Xbox Series S is slightly different. The console will target 30 FPS, with no 60 FPS mode announced for the smaller Xbox console.

Why the 60 FPS mode matters

For a game like The Blood of Dawnwalker, having a higher frame rate can make a huge difference to how the game feels. FPS, or frames per second, refers to how many individual frames are displayed every second. A higher frame rate makes movement and animations look smoother and can also make controls feel more responsive.

The difference between 30 FPS and 60 FPS can be particularly noticeable during combat. The Blood of Dawnwalker features sword-based combat along with supernatural abilities, so smoother movement could make it easier to follow enemies and react to attacks.

That does not mean the 30 FPS Quality Mode will be a bad way to play the game. It will prioritise visual quality, while the 40 FPS Balanced Mode sits somewhere in the middle. The new Performance Mode simply gives players another option if smoother gameplay matters more to them.

The Boltt Ace has landed in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 13,999 for the base 4GB RAM and 64GB storage configuration. The 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant is priced at Rs 14,999, while the top-end 8GB RAM and 128GB storage model costs Rs 15,999.

Xiaomi has launched its first products under the Mijia by Xiaomi brand in India, which was officially announced earlier this month. The Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 is priced at Rs 19,999 and is designed for larger spaces, covering up to 940 sq ft based on two air changes per hour. Its particle CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) is 443 m³/h and its formaldehyde CADR is 218 m³/h. The five-stage system includes a primary filter, high-efficiency filter, activated carbon layer, UV-C sterilisation and negative ions. The activated carbon layer specifically targets gaseous pollutants including formaldehyde and cooking fumes, which is relevant to Indian homes where prolonged cooking and high-heat methods release significantly more airborne pollutants than typical kitchen ventilation handles.

The purifier has a large colour display showing PM2.5 and PM1 levels, temperature and humidity. Sleep Mode operates at 32.1dB, which is quieter than a whisper at 35dB. It connects to the Xiaomi Home app and supports Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. The Air Purifier 6 carries SGS and ITS allergen removal certification.

Priced at Rs 7,999, the Air Purifier 4 Compact covers rooms of 400 sq ft and above. It uses a 3-in-1 filtration system rated to capture 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns and carries TÜV Rheinland Allergy Care Certification. Sleep Mode on the 4 Compact operates at just 20dB, quieter than either the Purifier 6's sleep mode or a typical whisper and the display switches off automatically in this mode. It weighs 2.2 kg and connects to the Xiaomi Home app with Alexa and Google Assistant support.

Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 Lite features

Xiaomi is also reintroducing Smart Air Purifier 4 Lite which is priced at Rs 12,999 and covers 269 to 463 sq ft. It delivers 360 m³/h particle CADR through a three-layer filtration system and also carries TÜV Rheinland Allergy Care Certification. Night Mode operates at 33.4dB.

Sandeep Singh Arora, Chief Business Officer at Xiaomi India, said the air purifier launch reflects the company's focus on addressing “everyday consumer needs” through the Mijia brand, with plans to continue expanding the smart home portfolio beyond this initial category.

Sony has offended the PlayStation gaming community, and this time, players are not staying silent. The company recently announced that it will stop manufacturing physical game discs for new PlayStation releases starting in January 2028. Not only that, but gamers will also avoid any spending on the PlayStation Store. This is especially important because games like Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol 2, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, and Star Wars: Zero Company are also set to be released during the blackout period.

Sony vs gamers: How it started

The core complaint of the PS5 fans is that Sony is ending physical disc production, which is practically cutting off options to trade, sell, or lend games. Fans argue that digital purchases only grant a licence, one that can be revoked at any time.

That fear initially was seeded as Sony removed hundreds of movies from PS5 libraries earlier this year, reminding buyers that owning something digitally is not the same as owning it forever. And now, Sony has also started sending mail to the users stating that their digital library is just a long-term rental agreement.

However, this wasn't the only thing that led to the protest, as the anger is deeply rooted in the company’s previous decisions, which include raising console prices.  Sony raised prices across its entire PS5 lineup in India as well as across the world; the standard console now costs Rs 69,990 and the Digital Edition at Rs 49,990.

These concerns have also led many players to feel that Sony is prioritising profits over the community that helped build its gaming empire. They want the company to take notice and address these concerns before it is too late.

When will the PS5 Blackout end?

The PS5 Blackout is a week-long voluntary protest that began on August 23, 2026, at 7:00 PM IST. The protest is scheduled to continue for one week and will officially end on August 30, 2026, at 7:00 PM IST.

Microsoft employees are using AI tools at scale and that is costing the tech giant thousands of dollars, with one employee reportedly recording $28,000 worth of AI usage in just 28 days, as per internal spreadsheet reviewed by Business Insider. The data offers a rare look at how much AI is being consumed across Microsoft's workforce as the company encourages employees to use AI in their daily work.

The spreadsheet reportedly contained nearly 600 entries from US employees, although only around 350 had reported their AI usage. The median usage was about $300 over 28 days, but the numbers varied sharply across teams.

How much are Microsoft employees spending on AI?

The highest median AI usage was reported among Microsoft's CoreAI employees, at around $975 over 28 days. Security employees had a median of approximately $526, followed by Microsoft AI at $490.

Cloud + AI employees recorded a median of $325, while Experiences and Devices and Azure reported median usage of $250 and $241, respectively. Customer and Partner Solutions had the lowest median at $134, although the organisation also included the highest individual figure of $28,000 that is over Rs 26.81 lakh.

However, these figures do not necessarily represent money employees personally paid. The new spreadsheet column tracks the estimated dollar value of AI resources consumed using an internal Microsoft tool.

Microsoft is testing AI usage tracking

A Microsoft spokesperson said the tracking tool is still an early testing phase. The company is trying to understand how employees are using AI as it invests heavily in models, computing infrastructure and AI powered products. The data also showed no meaningful connection between higher AI usage and better raises, bonuses or promotions.
