Xiaomi has officially expanded its budget smartphone lineup in India with the launch of Redmi A7 series. The lineup includes the Redmi A7 and Redmi A7 Pro and Xiaomi claimed to have offered more practical features such as large display, dependable performance and long battery life in the segment. The Redmi A7 features a 6.88-inch display, while the Redmi A7 Pro comes with a bigger 6.9-inch HD+ panel with support for up to a 120Hz refresh rate. Both models come with TÜV Rheinland certifications for eye protection and include wet touch technology for better responsiveness in different conditions.
In terms of performance, the devices offer 64GB storage paired with LPDDR4X RAM, along with virtual RAM support and are powered by Unisoc T8300 5G chipset. Additional features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, IP52-rated durability, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The Pro model also introduces select smart features like Google Gemini and Circle to Search for enhanced usability. Connectivity options include dual SIM support and expandable storage up to 2TB via a dedicated microSD slot.

The camera setup includes a 13MP rear sensor and an 8MP front camera for basic photography and video calls. Both phones support 15W charging and feature smart battery management, along with 7.5W reverse wired charging for added convenience.

The Redmi A7 is priced at Rs 10,499 for the 3GB RAM and 64GB storage variant, while the Redmi A7 Pro is available at Rs 11,499 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage model. The smartphones will be available via Mi.com, Amazon India, Flipkart, and Xiaomi retail stores, with sales beginning April 23.
