Did Samsung tease Galaxy Z Fold 8 on social media? Here is what we know

Samsung is expected to unveil its next-generation foldable smartphones later this month, including the Galaxy Z Flip 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8. Word has it that the company could also introduce a redesigned version of its book-style foldable with a wider display. Now, Samsung has officially started teasing the Galaxy Z Fold 8 with cryptic posts, which seems to be hinting at the rumoured wide version of the Z Fold 8.

Samsung has shared a couple of posts on its official Samsung Mobile Instagram account. The company has even removed all of its older Instagram posts, leaving only the new teaser posts. Together, these posts spell out the phrase “New Shape. New Joy.”

The teasers do not directly mention the Galaxy Z Fold 8. Instead, they hint at a new design with short messages such as “Cut to what matters,” “Feels just right” and “A whole new slice.” The posts show a wider, shorter design for the upcoming foldable.

One teaser stands out from the rest. It shows the message “Bold Stroke New Shape.” In the video, Samsung shows shades of purple, pink, and beige before revealing what appears to be the Galaxy Z Fold 8’s wallpaper. The wallpaper features the number “8”, making it the clearest hint yet that the teasers are for the next fold model.

Rumours suggest that the wide version is expected to launch as Galaxy Z Fold 8. Meanwhile, the traditional book-style foldable is said to launch with the ‘Ultra’ branding.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 wide: Launch date and price in India (Expected)

Samsung is expected to unveil the next generation of foldables on July 22, 2026. As far as the price is concerned, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 wide is rumoured to be priced between Rs 1,79,999 and Rs 1,99,999.

As per leaks, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 wide is expected to feature a 7.6-inch main screen and a 5.4-inch outer screen. Both displays may support a 120Hz refresh rate. Powering the device could be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip. Furthermore, the device may equip a 4,800mAh battery with 45W fast charging support.

In terms of optics, the wide version of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 could house a dual-rear camera setup, which may consist of a 50MP main lens and a 50MP ultra-wide lens. For selfies and video calls, the phone is said to sport a 10MP camera on both displays.
