Apple has officially confirmed its next big hardware launch event, where the company will be going to introduce the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. The event, titled Surprise and Shine, is scheduled for next week. However, the highlight of the event can be the iPhone Ultra, Apple’s first-ever foldable device that may rival the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 in the Indian market. While Apple has not confirmed the details yet, here is everything that we know about the Apple iPhone 18 Pro series.
Apple’s Surprise and Shine event will take place on September 9, with the presentation expected to begin at 10:30 PM IST. The company is expected to announce the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max at the event along with the iPhone Fold or iPhone Ultra.
Pre-orders are tipped to begin on September 12, while the new iPhones could reach customers and stores around September 18. However, Apple has not yet confirmed the pre-order or sale dates.
The latest leaks claim that iPhone 18 Pro is expected to retain a 6.3-inch display, while the Pro Max may feature a 6.9-inch panel. The biggest upgrade can be the performance, thanks to Apple’s new A20 Pro chipset. It is tipped to offer improved performance and even better power efficiency.
Both Pro models are also rumoured to get 12GB of RAM for better on-device processing of Apple Intelligence features. Siri and other AI tools are also said to handle more complex tasks without depending entirely on cloud servers.
Camera upgrades may include a triple 48MP setup, comprising primary, ultra-wide and telephoto sensors. Apple is also rumoured to introduce a mechanical variable-aperture camera, although it may remain exclusive to the Pro Max. The phones can also feature bigger batteries, Apple’s C2 5G modem and new colour options.
The iPhone 18 Pro lineup is expected to become more expensive due to rising component and memory costs. The iPhone 18 Pro could start at around $1,199 to $1,299 globally, while the Pro Max may cost between $1,299 and $1,499.
In India, the iPhone 18 Pro is rumoured to start at around Rs 1,39,900. The iPhone 18 Pro Max can be priced between Rs 1,54,900 and Rs 1,69,900 or higher, depending on storage configuration.
