The Department of Justice, in collaboration with the e-Committee of the Supreme Court, has been expanding the eCourts platform that makes filing court cases much easier. Using the platform, eligible persons can file civil and criminal cases from anywhere, eliminating the need to physically attend the courthouse. Users can do so directly from their computer or even a smartphone. At the time of writing the platform has been rolled out for high courts and district courts all around the country. Not only that, but it can be used in English as well as in local languages, ensuring that it’s accessible to all. Whether you are a lawyer or someone who has never before filed a case, the e-Filing service provides you with an easy, secure, and digital method to submit your case. Now that you’ve checked everything, open a web browser and go to the eCourts India e-Filing website. You can also use the eCourts India e-Filing app for the same. Log in with your username and password.
Look for ‘New Filing’ on the home screen and select it to start filing a new case. You will now be asked to choose the type of case, and then you will be required to upload your documents through the e-Services section.

Make sure that you carefully review everything; once done, submit the case. Once submitted, you can track updates regarding the case through the Notifications section. To check your case status anytime, send an SMS with the format ECOURTS followed by your CNR number to 9766899899.
