Samsung has stepped into finance with its first branded credit card, the Samsung Galaxy Card, in the US. The new Visa-powered card, issued in partnership with Barclays US Consumer Bank, offers cashback on Samsung purchases, Samsung Wallet transactions and select subscription services. The company stated that applications for the card are now open for eligible early access users, while general availability will begin on July 22, 2026. Customers who sign up can also earn a welcome bonus of $200 (around Rs 17,200) in cashback after spending $2,000 (around Rs 1.72 lakh) within the first 90 days of opening the account.
The rewards programme seems to be decent. The cardholders can get 5 percent cashback on eligible purchases made directly from Samsung, 3 percent cashback on payments completed through Samsung Wallet, 2 percent cashback on streaming subscriptions such as Netflix, Disney+ and Spotify, and 1 percent cashback on all other eligible spending.
Samsung is also offering 20 percent off its Samsung VIP Advantage membership for Galaxy Card holders, along with 5 percent cashback on new memberships and renewals.
The Galaxy Card is designed to work closely with Samsung Wallet, allowing users to add it along with payment cards, digital IDs, boarding passes, keys and other supported credentials. Samsung said that the integration aims to offer a better payment experience while relying on its Knox security platform.
Samsung is expected to share more details about the Galaxy Card during its Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22, where the company is also anticipated to unveil its next-generation Galaxy Z foldable smartphones, including the Z Fold 8, Z Fold 8 Ultra and Z Flip 8.
