Samsung users in India should be ready for their Galaxy S26 series models for the One UI 9 update, as the South Korean giant is expected to roll out the Android 17-based OS update this week. With the new update you’ll get several new AI-powered features, including My FanCam for automatically tracking subjects in videos, improved Now Brief and Now Nudge experiences, and new tools across Creative Studio, Interpreter, Document Scanner and Voice Recorder. Samsung has also teased some of the devices that will be getting the One UI 9 updates. Here’s everything you need to know about the One UI 9 update.
With the new One UI 9, Samsung brings Android 17 features to Galaxy smartphones, including AI-powered tools designed to make everyday tasks easier. It also introduces My FanCam, which can track a selected person in a recorded video and automatically keep the camera focused on them. Moreover, the tool can also be useful for recording concerts, stage performances, family events and sports, where the main subject may keep moving.
Samsung is also making Now Brief and Now Nudge more useful, as Now Brief will offer new generative and editable cards, giving users more control over the information shown in their daily summaries. While the Now Nudge is designed to offer suggestions based on what users are doing inside supported apps. For example, it can help save reservation details or locations shared in conversations without making users switch to another screen.
Alongside that, new features have been added to Creative Studio, and updates have been made to Interpreter, Document Scanner, and Voice Recorder. The goal of those is to simplify frequent operations for users.
Another important feature of One UI 9 is security. Samsung introduces Security Brief and privacy notices that will draw users’ attention to possible risks, such as suspicious application behaviour or requesting permissions. The new Warranty and Care section will also bring warranty details, diagnostics, repair estimates and Samsung Care+ management together in Settings.
The global rollout of the stable build of One UI 9 by Samsung has already begun, whereas One UI 9 is expected to land in India this week. Although Samsung hasn’t yet announced an official launch date for India, it has previously hinted that the software upgrade will be phased out.

Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus, and Galaxy S26 Ultra will be the first smartphones to receive the stable One UI 9 update. Alongside these models, the company has also revealed a partial list of other Galaxy devices that are eligible for the upcoming software upgrade.
Other than the Galaxy S26 series, previous generation models will also receive the One UI 9 update. It includes the Galaxy S25 and S25 FE, Galaxy S24 and S24 FE, Galaxy S23 and S23 FE, as well as the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Z Fold 5, and Galaxy Z Flip 5.
Note: This is only the list of Samsung phones that were teased by the company to get the One UI 9 update. There are still many more devices expected to get the update.
