HIGHLIGHTS

iOS 27 may introduce a dedicated Siri app with multitasking and third-party AI agent support

Camera-based AI features and advanced photo editing tools expected across supported devices

Update likely to debut at WWDC 2026 before rolling out with the iPhone 18 lineup in September

Apple iPhone 18 Pro series and the iPhone Ultra are already getting all the limelight for the biggest changes, but I am excited for iOS 27. The new update is rumoured to be Apple’s answer to Samsung and other smartphone makers who have introduced a slew of AI features. While Apple is late to the AI party, the update is finally said to bring some of the biggest AI features, including the AI Siri with visual awareness, AI photo editing features, and more. So here is everything that we know so far about iOS 27.

iOS 27 AI features:

First and foremost, iOS 27 is said to be the biggest update for Apple Intelligence. According to Mark Gurman’s report, the eligible iPhones will finally get AI photo-editing tools and a Siri camera option. Although the focus will be on boosting performance, it will be quite meaningful for iPhone users.

According to reports, iOS 27 will include a dedicated app for Siri. It will feature a new interface, support for third-party agents via the App Store, and the ability to perform multiple tasks at once. Additionally, users may see Apple Intelligence-led photo editing with new tools to extend, enhance, and reframe images within the Photos app.

Furthermore, the update may include an upgrade to Visual Intelligence. The capability, which currently uses ChatGPT, will be integrated into the Camera app as a Siri mode alongside the existing photo and video options. It may also provide nutritional information from food packaging and collect contact information.

iOS 27 release timeline

The iOS 27 is expected to launch along with the iPhone 18 Pro series and the iPhone Ultra at the launch event in September. However, the company will first showcase its capabilities at WWDC 2026 on June 8.
