Oppo has announced its ColorOS 17 smartphone operating system in India. The software will debut with the upcoming Oppo Find X10 series on October 22. The rollout for more Oppo phones will begin later this month through a phased approach. While focusing on its smooth and flow design philosophy, the company said Oppo AI is now being built into the system with AI Mind Pilot’s Agent Mode and other features such as AI Photo Agent, Mind Space and Mind Suggest.
While focusing on the utility of these features, the company highlighted security measures such as a Transparency Report for details on data processing and Private Computing Cloud for secure data transmission. If you have an Oppo phone, here are the key AI features and enhancements the company announced for ColorOS 17 and the device-specific release timeline.
AI Mind Pilot Agent Mode: The Agent Mode can work with on-device files, scan sources, use the necessary tools and complete multi-step tasks assigned by a user. For instance, it can locate files, organise, rename and sort them based on defined metrics and use them to generate output.
AI Photo Agent: Claimed to roll out gradually across countries, the agent can edit photos using natural language. It gets capabilities like Style Match and options to suggest edits for the input image.
AI Mind Space: Users will be able to give the AI video links and documents to turn into structured “searchable personal memories”, Oppo said. Users can add them to make a wide collection of content that can be used to recollect information on-demand.
AI Mind Suggest: It can present a user with their morning brief and surface travel details for flights and trains. Moreover, the feature can recommend songs from Spotify when an audio device is plugged in, Oppo said in a press note.
OSee: The vision-based feature can help users get answers to what they see around them. OSee can analyse the scene and its objects and connect with translation, object recognition, HD scanning and other services to render a response to a query.
AI Call Guard: The AI utility can flag spam and fraud calls using on-device AI. It can alert users when synthetic voice or face marks an appearance during a call. The feature is now available in India.
