Apple has posted a job opening in the US, and it has nothing to do with iPhones, Macs or other Apple products. The company is looking for an iCup Supply Specialist in Santa Clara, California. The role involves taking care of Apple’s coffee machines and making sure employees always have access to fresh coffee. The position pays up to $36.05 (around Rs 3500) per hour, based on the listed pay range. “At Apple, we take coffee seriously,” the iPhone-maker wrote in the listing.
According to Apple’s job listing, the iCup specialist will be responsible for maintaining as many as 90 bean-to-cup coffee machines. The person hired for the role will have to make sure the machines are clean, working properly and stocked with coffee beans and other supplies. Apple says the job is about making sure employees have a good coffee experience at work.
“Your day-to-day routine will consist of refilling coffee beans and supplies and cleaning the food contact surfaces within the machine. You will experience running a route, answering service calls and communicating with building managers and admins. This role will report to the iCup Service Supervisor,” the iPhone maker explains in the listing.

Apple is looking for someone with a high school diploma and knowledge of basic food safety practices. Previous experience in route management, delivery, customer service, warehouse work or grocery work is also preferred.
A valid driver’s licence is mandatory because the employee will need to drive between different locations. Apple also says the person should have a clean driving record and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
“Extraordinarily Service Oriented” is one of the qualities Apple lists for the role. The company also wants candidates who can solve problems, communicate well and make decisions.

Apple has listed a base pay range of $27.75 to $36.05 per hour for the position. This converts to approx. Rs 2,670 to Rs 3,500 per hour.
