Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei has recently emerged as one of the highest-paid technology executives in Silicon Valley. According to the data shared by Anthropic in its latest IPO filing, the CEO received $18 million in 2025 in compensation. The figure received by the Anthropic CEO is reportedly higher than the annual compensation of Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai and Amazon CEO Andy Jassy for the same year. Though it’s important to note that Amodei’s pay does not mean his take-home salary is $18 million, as most of the pay in the package came through stock and equity, while his actual salary stood at $1.4 million. Here’s everything you need to know.
According to Anthropic’s IPO filing, Amodei received $18 million in total compensation in 2025, while his actual salary was $1.4 million, with most of the remaining amount coming from stock and other equity awards.
His sister, Daniela Amodei, who is also the President of Anthropic, received $16.4 million in total compensation during the year. Like her brother, most of her package was also linked to company stock and options.
In July, the siblings’ salaries were increased to $1.4 million each. Furthermore, Anthropic’s board has also approved extra stock awards for both of them this year. Some of these awards require them to stay with the company, while others depend on the company possibly going public (IPO).\
Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai received $10.9 million in reported compensation in 2025, while Amazon CEO Andy Jassy received $2.1 million. However, those figures do not show the full picture because the value of stock awards can change significantly.
When the changing value of their stock awards is included, Pichai’s compensation rises to $213.9 million while Jassy’s gets $13.2 million. The inclusion of stocks and equity makes the executive pay comparisons more complicated, especially at large technology companies where stock ownership can make up a major part of a CEO’s wealth.

Anthropic may go public as early as this autumn, and its value could rise above $2 trillion. The company also said that CEO Dario Amodei, Daniela Amodei, and other co-founders have promised to give 80 per cent of their Anthropic shares to charity. At the same time, salaries for top technology executives vary widely. For example, Oracle co-CEO Clayton Magouyrk received $627.5 million in 2025.
